Tarquin had traveled far, for whatever it was worth deciding to give these Teekon Wilds what he could consider something of a second chance. Whatever measure it had been that had caused him to leave them in the first place he did not remember, but he remembered that his first stay was not long. His departure had taken him back to Veina Dei, back to his mother and plethora of older siblings. This, too, was not meant to last long. He desired his independence from them, away from the bearing shadow of his father, Isi Frostfur despite the man's passing shortly before Tarquin's own birth. Expectations were kept, passed from the eldest son down the line to where it ended with him. The legacy of the father was a heavy thing to carry, especially when the man had been made into a martyr with his death. Tarquin was not yet in the place in his life when he wanted to be responsible, favoring the 'youngest son' syndrome that allowed him to hold zero accountability. This was skewed thinking, of course, the mind set of a man that had never been held accountable as a boy; that would change given time and Tarquin was not the fool to consider otherwise.
Still, he intended to live it up as much as he could before the weight of responsibility sat upon his shoulders. Some responsibility was needed now, but the measure of it felt small compared to what his brothers had more or less demanded of him. Nova Peak did not strike him to be in the same vein as Veina Dei and for that Tarquin found that he was grateful. Not that he had much time to do a whole lot of assessing; he'd called for a leader, gave his spiel of what skills he had to offer them, agreed to be loyal and an asset — the usual procedure — and he'd been accepted into their fold.
Now, a few hours later, Tarquin had set it upon himself to become more acquainted with the territories within the claimed region that made up the pack of Nova Peak, with the purpose of committing them to memory.

Going to assume Scim was the one who acce[ted him -- I had accepted Tarquin's app, and usually send a PM to discuss OOC joining details.. but was on my ipad at the time and then forgot. :( I can change if you'd rather, though!
Scimitar’s duties had become quite humdrum – something the cinnamon wolf had reveled in the first few weeks in their home. It was becoming a lost normal now, not to have someone knocking at their door, guns blazing, and the tension in his shoulders was beginning to lessen. Bazi would give birth any day now – and his nervousness had not diminished as such. There were no others here for him to take advice from – none of them had children of their own. It was moments like this when he especially missed Paarthurnax, and recalling her gentle features, gave a soft shake of his muzzle. Julius, Kiv.. they would have been excited for other puppies to play with, he was sure.
Loping up the slope of his home – the newly familiar scent of Tarquin was noted. Changing his course, the regal sought out the man – he had accepted him to the borders, and in turn, wanted to see how the younger wolf was settling. Coming upon his form, Scimitar allowed his eyes to quickly study the male – they needed strong members, and Tarquin had certainly fit the description – tall and lean, he would prove to be a superior Outrider. “Tarquin,” he greeted, closing the distance between the two. “How are you?”

That's fine. :-) Also, I assumed that Scim would have told Tarquin about Bazi expecting but I can change it! :3
Tarquin had not been so entirely focused upon his task at hand that he did not intercept the footfalls that approached, minimizing the distance between them with each press of paw against the spring softened earth with a twitch of his ears to either side of his skull before they thrust back to the curve of his crown, attentive. His steps had not slowed, nor ceased until the Nova Peak alpha male, Scimitar — also the one that had accepted him into their fold — came into the view of his sharp, golden eyes. The cease of Tarquin's own footfalls was gradually, acknowledgment of the other male's rank given as Scimitar addressed him. It came as a slight surprise that Scimitar had remembered his name, for half of his siblings hadn't even remembered it studiously determined to call him awful and childish nicknames in placement. No doubt born of their jealousy due to how he was spoiled ferociously. An advantage to being the last child of Isi, conceived shortly before he passed away.
Tuning those thoughts out, Tarquin refocused his attention back upon his new leader as Scimitar inquired after his well being. “Well,” The DiSarinno-Frostfur replied with a casual shrug of his shoulders. Thus far he had no reason not to be: Nova Peak was not disappointing as far as aesthetics went, and thus far leadership did not seem to dissapoint. “I was just admiring the aesthetics of the Peak and it's inner territories,” The charismatic male offered with a charming smile, though this was spoken in honesty. Memorizing the landscape, enjoying aesthetics ...it was all the same thing. “How about you? And the expecting mother, is she well?” Tarquin did not know Bazi and likely would not get the pleasure to meet her for some measure of time but such a thing came as no surprise to Tarquin and therefore did not bring with it any sort of offense.

Scimitar gave a gentle nod, though did not comment on the beauty of his home. He believed it to be such, naturally, but the cinnamon regal was not one to discuss the prettiness of land s—though he appreciated the compliment. Sidling up closer to his companion as he caught up fully, the Alpha gave an idle flick of his tail as it lifted – a natural state of dominance, though this was sated with Tarquin’s own response to his leader. They were a small pack, and yet the Frostfur male reveled in this – they had become far more particular of who they let in to their ranks, lest they end up in a mess like they had in Swiftcurrent Creek countless times – given the peaceful life they now led.. Scimitar’s suspicions seemed almost confirmed. The land had been cursed.
“Bazi is well – about to pop any day,” he mused gently, thinking back fondly to his mate who had taken to keeping closer to the den now that their days were numbered. “Which is why I seek you out,” he determined then, which hadn’t necessarily been true.. but opportunity was not to be wasted. “Our caches are good for now – but we have heard little of the outside packs. This is unusual for Teekon Wilds – neighbors here are usually quite nosey. Take either Falwasi, Tryphon or Kieran with you to seek out our neighbors and see what news they have. Who they are – scope out what they’re like. I would go, but I don’t want to leave Bazi.. and she needs Kaskara here as well.” There was a small pause as he regarded the male, wondering if outrider was even something he looked for in a trade. “With puppies on the way.. I want to be sure we’re familiar with our surroundings.”

Tarquin might not have known Bazi in any sort of personal manner, hadn't even yet had the pleasure of being formally introduced face to face, her well being was still of some importance to him. She was the alpha female, after all. If something happened to her it was a given that such a thing would effect the entire pack as opposed to just a select few. A nod of acknowledgment was given when Scimitar informed that she was well, if not ready to get the child growing in her womb out. At least, this is what Tarquin chose to take from Scimitar's 'ready to pop' comment. The inquires of well being was shifted to something indisputably more serious as Scimitar finished his pause with a purpose. Tarquin found it interesting that Scimitar had personally sought him out for no doubt a job (if the words he had been momentarily left with were of any indication), but was nothing short of attentive when the leader continued on.
An outrider quest; though it was not a request but came across to the DiSarinno-Frostfur as something much more similar to an order. Not that Tarquin was about to protest; it took a certain level of trust to approach someone as new as Tarquin and setting them right to work. Not to mention, it was an opportunity to prove himself. Three dossiers were given to him, three names, one of which he was at liberty to choose to tag team the mission with him. Tarquin was used to working alone, but given his newness he did not feel it would be right to push it. “The choice is mine boss? Which of the three would you personally suggest?” Because given his newness to Nova Peak, Tarquin trusted Scimitar's opinion which would have more standing behind it than Tarquin's own.
“I will set out straight away.” While Tarquin was apprehensive about taking the mission on with another wolf he was eager, nevertheless. "Are there packs that you wish for us to head to specifically?"

'Boss' was not a name Scimitar was used to being called, but he supposed it was better than the even more former 'sire,' or 'sir' that seemed to slip out of the mouths of others at times. " @Falwasi ," he offered, not hesitating a moment. The she-wolf had run similar missions for him, and he believed she would work well with the man before him. "Watch it if you spar with her though," he murmured, withholding a grin. "She has a rather impressive maneuver that tends to flatten her opponents." Scimitar himself had been such a victim -- she had knocked him out cold before.
"Be careful with the Noctisardor Bypass pack if you go near them," he warned, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Otherwise, just a report on what other packs are nearby.. and what type of neighbors they might be." If the pack wa fortunate, they would not have much in terms of neighbors.. Scimitar had his fill of that element of drama at Swiftcurrent Creek.
