All Welcome
-Impatiently makes a trade thread because I can-

Another day came and went, and there was still no sign of her beloved. The clouds had cleared partly, allowing beams of sunlight to peek through their once-solid barrier between land and sky. She was still searching, would forever be searching until he was by her side again, but the Wilding was a survivalist; even through her distress, she could not ignore her basal needs. Besides, she reasoned, keeping her belly full and resting when needed allowed her to remain efficient in her quest — even if sleep largely escaped her.

Just one pack, even a lone wolf was enough to unnerve her. Yet here she was, surrounded by a multitude of packs in every conceivable direction. Being in what to her was a highly vulnerable position left the estranged creature on high alert, and she kept her eyes and ears on swivel. Her presence here would be fleeting, as she was only passing through to look for any signs of her Beast. But she was drawn to the little lake, as it was the only source of water not in the immediate vicinity of a pack.

Approaching the water's edge, she peered at her own reflection, disturbed by the forlorn soul that stared back. The Wilding loathed to see just how undone she was becoming, so she sipped at the mirror's surface to distort the image before wading into the water. In her element, she moved with the grace of a heron, emerald eyes hardening as they focused on the darting figures below the surface. She tended to become so engrossed in the art of fishing that the world around her faded into a fog, even now as she occupied such an uncomfortably high-traffic area. There was nothing else in the world; no packs, no loneliness, not even Beast, only the huntress, her prey, and the water that contained them.

Hiya! I finally decided to post in your thread @Wilding . Hope it's okay. It's gonna be something new for Basil so let's see how it turns out. :P

After having left the area around Whitefish River, he remembered that there was another direction that the river was flowing to. Basil did not want to go further north for now but his instincts told him to stay near drinkable water so he decided to follow the river and see where it lead him. Thus he had arrived at another like, admittedly rather small compared to the great lake that he first saw when he had arrived in this land.

Stopping to slurp up the chilly water his ears picked up quite splashing sounds. It was not overly loud, so whoever was stepping into the water didn’t necessarily want to be heard. Thinking it was an enemy or someone on the hunt, his body dropped flush to the ground. The young hunter did not want to accidently end someone’s hunt or get hurt himself if the other thought he was prey. Keeping low, he crawled towards the sounds and stopped shortly before leaving the tall grass. His amber eyes took note of the female standing in the water. She was apparently not going for land prey but rather the big salmon he sees swimming in the lake.

Having concluded that she was not going to hurt him, even accidental, he lay down and started watching the stranger. His last experience hunting fish were not good. He might be a good hunter but only of land prey, fish were too slippery for him somehow but maybe he would be able to learn something from the stranger if he watches them fish. Being a lone wolf he needs all the advantages he can get. Basil also does not want to startle and hinder the other from fishing their food so he opted to stay quiet and just watch for now. The fact that he was being a bit of a creeper was completely lost to him.
