All Welcome
AW! But she is looking for her Dad

Vela liked to stay up in the mountains, but sometimes she had to get down from that throne. Especially when she wanted to see her daddy @Charon. Vela had been thinking about how to get his attention. She had been more absent to see if it would capture his attention. She didn't have the feeling that it was working. She caught his scent here and there and decided to track it.

Maybe she should have an injury as well to have her father spend more time with her. She would decide later if she would have to be that drastic. Maybe today she would find him and they would have a lovely time together. Vela trotted through the snow. Winter had really come upon them, as now even snow was in the lower parts of their mountain. Vela decided that she liked snow. She felt like a snow princess trotting through it.

After Charon had disclosed the strained relationship between Vela and Galaxy, Rannoch had begun to consider how he could assist. He sought his childhood memories to see if his mannerisms could correlate with the situation. Rannoch's relationship with Cypress had been typical; the brothers often found their resolution to their issues through discussion. Rannoch was left to wonder if there was a communication issue between the two pale siblings.

When navigating the packlands, Rannoch always kept an eye out for the children of the mountain. Now that he was an established member of Moonspear, he wanted to put more effort into his relationship with the younger members. This push had come from the condition of the pack's borders; the threat of Blackfeather Woods had dwindled, and Rannoch felt comfortable in resuming his former duties.

Rannoch had nearly mistaken Vela for a pile of snow but, as she moved, it was easier to distinguish her from the pale backdrop. "Hey, Vela!" Rannoch called from a distance in an attempt to catch her attention. He realigned himself so that his paws pointed in the general direction that Vela was walking.

Vela turned around when she heard someone call out for her. Her dark blue eyes fell on the male standing a bit away from her. The female recognized him as Rannoch. She hadn't known much about him other than he had been around. "Hi Rannoch,' she greeted in return and stepped closer to him. Perhaps he had seen her father!

The freckled girl stepped closer to him. "Have you seen my daddy?," she asked curiously. After all, she had been looking for him and not for this Rannoch. Vela offered him a sweet smile. Perhaps that would make him think harder where he had seen Charon last.

Charon was on his way back from a quick patrol. The borders needed to be kept safe now more than ever; not only because Vaati was running around, but also because fresh snow easily covered tracks made before and Charon wanted to make sure that nobody could wind up on his territory by mistake. He tried to minimise the odds it would, anyway.

Just as Charon came from the forests at the mountain's lower slopes, he heard Vela's voice. He couldn't make out what she was saying, but picked up her and Rannoch's scents, so he started making his way towards them, unaware that Vela had been looking for him.

Rannoch shook his head in response to Vela's inquiry; he hadn't seen the snow-pelted Alpha in days. Despite his answer, the Sitter remained optimistic. "I could help you look for him if you'd like," he offered with a smile. He had meant to talk to Vela, anyway, and this seemed like an opportunity to do so.

He waited, unsure of what Vela's answer would be.

Vela was happy to hear that the male wanted to help her. It was very important she would find her daddy. However, they didn't even need to start looking since Vela already caught her father's footsteps. The sound of him approaching was locked into her brain. "Nevermind," she rushed to Rannoch and then ran off towards her father.

"DADDY!,' she squeaked excitedly and eagerly approached him, ready to shower him with licks, kisses, and cuddles. She felt like she hadn't seen him in ages! Her tail was wagging quickly and Rannoch was forgotten. "Daddy! Daddy! Can we do something fun?," she let out. Perhaps she should show him how good she was at locating the stars in the sky or reading the clouds for weather changes.

Only has eyes for her daddy xD lol

As Charon came closer he watched Vela's attention shift from Rannoch to him. It looked like she'd been on his trail as when she saw him she instantly came at him, seeming to forget all about her companion. He shot Rannoch a semi-apologetic look (though he mostly seemed to exude 'can't help being so awesome' so it was more of a sorry-not-sorry look) as his girl came rushing towards him. "Vela!" he called excitedly; "How are you, lil' princess?" When she reached him he was quickly engulfed in her affection and where he could manage Charon tried to plant a few licks back on her forehead.

Once pleasantries were over she asked if they could do something fun. "Of course we can do something fun. What do you want to do, sweetie? Anything you like." Should Vela promptly request to piggy-back-ride Rannoch, the wish would be granted, no questions asked, but he guessed that she had something a little more conventional in mind.

At first, Rannoch was perplexed as to why Vela dismissed his help; her demeanor had changed quickly, and she seemed to have rushed off with a destination in mind. With his confusion evident in his expression, Rannoch turned in the direction where she had run towards.

It was when Vela let out a shrill cry that Rannoch realized why Vela was in such a hurry; she had already found Charon before their search had even begun. He smiled, offering the Alpha Male a dip of his head as he watched the two interact. Despite his familiarity with Charon, he kept his distance and allowed for the two to converse to their heart's desire; if he were needed, he'd be there for the both of them.

Observing their exchange made Rannoch realize how excited he was to raise children of his own. Despite his position as Moonspear's Sitter, and his experience in caring for the children, Rannoch understood that parenthood was an entirely different experience. Springtime was just around the corner, and Rannoch knew that he and Liffey would soon have to seek permission to breed; the man before him was the only thing that stood between Rannoch and his aspirations.

Haha sorry to sideline Rannoch <3 So tempted to pick the piggyback ride hahaha.

Vela beamed with utter excitement to the fact that her father was giving her all his attention. "Perfect, daddy," she breathed out. Her tail was going so quick to show her excitement of all the affection she was getting from him. She took it all in with a certain greediness. She wanted all his attention, it was no secret. Vela looked up to her father. She wished that she could prove to him that she was the best daughter he ever had. She was quite driven to prove it to him. She wasn't certain how.

Vela hadn't expected him to say yes, so she was a bit surprised for a moment. Though she was quick to recover. "I wanna....," she thought out loud. "I wanna learn what you like doing the most," she spoke. Perhaps if she could be good at what her dad liked the most then they could do it together.

Charon looked in Rannoch's direction, ears cupped forward in silent invitation, but Rannoch seemed distracted and soon Charon himself was distracted by her arrival. "Glad to hear it," Charon said with a soft smile as he nuzzled the top of Vela's head. Then she shared she wanted to learn what he liked doing the most. He chuckled at this very direct compliment of his persona, though hadn't expected much different from his mini-me. If not for her dislike of Galaxy, she would have been absolutely perfect — but Charon still thought that that would clear up over time, surely, and the sisters'd get along fine some day.

"What I like doing the most is..." There was a short pause while he improvised something up, as his life mostly consisted of duty these days, "... Teaching my kids how awesome they are!" Which would really end them in a never-ending loop, so he thought of something else. "My second-favourite thing to do is watching the sunrise or sunset on a clear day from the middle of the mountainside, and exploring cool and pretty places." He had an eye for aesthetics, particularly when it came to nature, after all.

To Rannoch, it was evident that Charon and Vela were about to embark on an epic father-daughter adventure—a journey that seemingly had no room for a third wheel. He felt no ill feelings towards his realization; he would want others to provide respect for his time spent with his children.

"I'll let you two get to that, then," he offered with a smile. But as he went to turn heel, Rannoch lingered for a moment and waited to be dismissed rightly by the Alpha Male.

Vela didn't even notice that Rannoch was going to leave. Frankly, she didn't even bother to say goodbye. She was totally devoted to her father. Her tail was wagging profusely. Of course, her father loved to hang out with her! She was awesome because she was his daughter! Vela was beaming. She was awesome and Galaxy was clearly less awesome.

"Oh!! Can we see the sunset together, Daddy?," she asked eagerly. "I love watching sunsets with you!!," she grinned. She would love to do anything with her daddy, it was no secret. 'Or do you know other cool places we can explore? Can we have a secret spot? That only we know?," she asked longingly.

Charon was actually a bit disappointed that Rannoch left them be. He felt he didn't know Eshe's son as well as he'd like and was looking for some more quality time. But he wasn't about to force Rannoch to stay. "Alright, see you later," he said to Rannoch. Vela seemed to not really have noticed Rannoch, instead focussing on him.

Charon looked back at Vela when she said that she wanted to see the sunset. As children do, she quickly galloped onto the next subject and instead wanted to find a secret spot for just the pair of them. It would be tricky to find such a spot, since Charon'd shared most of his favourite spots with his mate and Hydra, Alya and Lyra. Although they had called the drippy cave he'd shown them 'boring', he had noticed they were using it so there was no way he could re-use that for Vela.

"Do you like caves?" he asked, figuring they could go look for a different cave. "We could find a cool-looking cave that could be our secret place."

Vela eagerly looked up to her dad. Even if she wasn't smaller than him she would have looked up to her dad. He was the best dad ever. She really wanted to be like him later in life. She listened to him say goodbye and then kept her hopeful stare at the male. When her father suggested finding a cave just for them she instantly agreed. She yipped and jumped around him. "Yes, yes, yes," she chimed excitedly.

"I want to find a cave! Where there is running water and a nice view!," she spoke out her demands. Because then they wouldn't have to leave the cave for a drink and if it had a nice view they could continue watching the sunset until late in the evening!

Last post from me!

When he was dismissed, Rannoch regarded the Father and Daughter duo with a bow of his head. "Have fun," he remarked with a smile before turning away from them. From there, Rannoch set off from to find Liffey and to see what she was up to.

After Rannoch left Vela excitedly said that she wanted to find a cave. With running water and a good view. It was a shame that the cave he'd shown his older daughters wasn't vacant, and certainly not secret. It also lacked a good view, at least if 'a good view' meant looking out across the lands below. He felt iffy finding an open-air cave so maybe Vela'd just have to do with a good indoor type view instead.

"Let's go find a cave that suits your desires," said Charon. "We won't stop 'til we find one that's perfect." A steep promise to make, perhaps, but filling in promises had never really been Charon's forte anyway so he thought little of it. He lead the way up the mountain and instructed: "Keep your eyes open for holes and cave entrances. Better if they're not too close to the beaten paths or if they're small entrances or secretly hidden ones, like behind a bush, rock or under a waterfall." He knew of a couple such places but thought it would be even better if they managed to find one that he hadn't thoroughly explored just yet.

Vela adored her father, and when he made such promises she felt the luckiest girl in the world. She would feel such a thrill. She was extremely excited that they could do this together and that her Daddy promised the perfect location. Vela nodded excitedly. She gave him an affectionate lick under her chin. The spotted female then scanned the surroundings and tried to find if there was a cave close by, they would probably need to go to higher grounds.

"Yes, papa!," she agreed. She started to sniff the ground and picked the direction that not many would take. She realized her Daddy was really smart to think like that. She would have followed the main paths, but of course, she shouldn't have followed those! The young female climbed through the undergrowth and slipped under bushes to see if she could find a cave that they could explore together. Vela only found a small rabbit hole and tried to climb higher.

Vela's enthusiasm was infectious and by the time he was rooting around to find a cave Charon was fully invested in finding the perfect cave for his little girl. It'd be a bit like a hideout — a place she could play which only she and papa knew about. "Find anything yet?" Charon called out while he walked through a patch of green, tangled plants beside a steep hill up the mountain. Just as he looked up to call to Vela and see where she was he landed in a hole and with a loud yelp of surprise Charon tumbled down a wolf-shaped hole that'd been overgrown by the bushes. He slid down a path that wasn't very steep and slid right into a cave where the soft sloshing of running water could be heard.

Vela Shook her head, as she only found a rabbit cage. But before she could speak she heard the yelp of her father. "DADDY!!!," she gasped and turned around to where he was moments ago. He vanished!! Vela whined and rushed to his previous location. There was a hole there and without any doubt, the female rushed in and found her father. "Daddy!!," she whined in relief when she saw him. She showed him with licks over his face. Though when she looked up Vela realized the beauty of this place. "Wow!," she breathed out.

Charon heard Vela's yelps in the background but he couldn't respond just yet. He hadn't gotten hurt, but was startled by the whole ordeal. Once able he called: "I'm here!" but by that time Vela was already beside him. "At least the entrance to this is hidden," Charon said with a grin when Vela found him and called out a 'wow'. He couldn't yet see the water, though when he looked up there was a path leading up and there were drippy rocks with water drops falling that looked beautiful.

"Let's see what else is in here," Charon said and he lead the way up, where they found themselves looking down from a ledge into a broad, shallow stream a few meters below them. There was a multi-tiered waterfall streaming down into the stream, and the best part of all: on the other side of the stream there was a hole in the mountain that looked out over the valleys. "Wow, look at that! Let's see if we can find a way to get there," Charon said and he nosed Vela's shoulder before starting to look for a way down to the stream.

Vela watched with wide eyes around her. This was exactly what she wanted. It was the perfect spot and her perfect daddy found it for her. She eagerly nodded and shadowed her father's flank. Her dark blue eyes staying wide and looked around her full with excitement. "Look at the water!!," she beamed and then rushed forward, though she had to break quickly so she wouldn't fall off the ledge.

The female glanced over the ledge to the side. Vela jumped on a jutted out rock to the right of the ledge. It was halfway down. She then made another jump and landed in the stream. She licked up some of the water. Fresh. Her eyes were beaming. "It is just like you promised!!!," she let out in excitement and ran through the water. She then noticed the 'window' from which they could watch the sunset. Vela trotted over there, making sure not to hit any of the dripping stones. "Wow!!!," she gasped.

"Careful!" The word had left his mouth before he realised it. He had never used it when it came to his first litter -- they'd be fiiine (and they had been fine) -- but he was more careful ever since Galaxy's fall down the crevice of the mountain. Perhaps he should deem it natural selection, but Charon could not bear to see the daughter that resembled him most perish by falling down a ledge into a stream in the mountain. She was fine, of course, and he felt stupid for calling after her when he realised this.

Quickly Charon pretended that it'd never happened and he followed Vela down to the stream. Well, at least he had made due on his promise. "Beautiful, isn't it?" It was by a stroke of pure luck that they had found this place, but Charon was glad enough that his daughter thought he'd purposefully found this, just for her. He followed Vela to the sunset 'window' and nosed the top of her head. "And it's got a view, too. What do you think — will this do for our secret hideout?" It'd be their secret, for no one else's eyes.

Vela didn't even look up when her father warned her with caution. The girl still didn't have much of a sense of danger most kids had. She only had a fear for her father disliking her. Though, she doubted that would happen now he found a secret spot for them. Vela was ecstatic. Her tail was wagging quickly behind her. "It is wonderful, Daddy!!," she spoke happily.

"Yes!! It is perfect," she beamed and then went to shower her father with licks once more. She loved her daddy. He was the best daddy ever. "Can I sleep in this secret hideout as well?," she asked. The female then looked out the 'window'. It would be perfect to watch the sunsets from here!

Charon chuckled as Vela came up to him and covered him in kisses. She asked if she could sleep here and he nodded. The rendezvous site was where the pups were usually at but they were almost (well, officially, anyway) adults now so Charon saw no harm in her sleeping wherever she pleased, so long as she was safe. "Of course," he said with a nod. "We can look for some cool treasures to make this place even better. You know — pretty rocks and shells and stuff like that." He wondered if any part of the bear they'd killed was still there; any part of the bear that had taken Galaxy. Maybe they'd find its skull and could put it somewhere.

Vela's eyes glinted. Her daddy was making even better suggestions. She would love to make this prettier. Maybe she could start a collection here of all the cool things she gathered. "I love the sparky stones!!," she breathed. She had no clue how they were named but she had seen them once or twice in the caves. Sometimes when one would break open a stone the sparkle would be inside of it. "We should look for the sparkle stones," she decided more firmly. "Shells?," she then asked. She hadn't seen a shell before, she hadn't come close to the beach yet. "What are shells?"
