Sinistra glared skywards, abysmal pupils narrowing in their pools of frosted, pale blue as he studied the grim looking sky. He had the intuition that his uncle had been graced with when it came to skywatching. It was going to rain, if the thick, grey clouds in the distance were of any indication (and they were of an accurate indication, mind); it was going to rain like a bitch, at that. The DiSarinno scowled slightly to himself, picking up his previously leisurely pace. It wasn't a natural talent that he considered to be a talent if only because Sinistra had a habit of taking advantage of it. He had set upon learning weather patterns and star alignments a long time ago and became one of those things he had gotten used too. It was nothing for him to determine if it was going to storm, or if a winter or summer was going to be harsh or not. Some wolves considered that ability to be mystical or in tune with the earth. To Sinistra it was as easy as a human reading script. He had learned how to do it and all the signs were there if only the signs were taken into account.

Getting caught in a rainstorm was not, admittedly, on the top of his to do list, though he would endure it if he was given no other choice — which it appeared would be the case. Autumn was already upon these lands, the spicy scent of to be dying trees and plants gave it away, as did the slight chill in the air. It was a reprieving countenance against the hot, muggy days of the summer but even so it whispered of colder days to come. When survival would be tested with the migration of herds and frigid temperatures tested their wills. Pace slowed again when he caught the scent of a nearby pack on the wind; black leathery nostrils flaring as he slowed, before he became too close to their borders. It was there he paused, tilted his head back and let out a howl, alerting them to his presence just as the sky opened up and rain began to fall to in a soft drizzle.

i am the storm.

Ever since building the den for Erika and her new litter, Summer had been committed his time to doing anything that would keep him busy. He and his father had somehow never realized that the key to sparing the boy from his frequent anxiety and depression episodes was to distract himself with work. It didn't help much when it came time for him to rest, but fortunately (or unfortunately), the boy didn't sleep very much as it was. His problems had kept him from that for a long time now.

So, when he heard the call of the dark-furred wolf at their borders, it was no surprise that Summer DeMonte-Ostrega could be found busily scouting the area nearby for any sign of a little herd of sheep that he had caught the just days-old scent of. Social situations were still not something he typically approached with an easy heart, but for some reason, he decided that day to test himself and turned his paws towards the sound.

It didn't take him long before he came across the fellow, and almost immediately he regretted his decision. It suddenly seemed to him that not being quite a year old yet, he probably shouldn't be approaching strangers at the borders on his own at all. His thoughts flashed to Jace and Ferdie and what potential disapproval they'd be sharing with him once they knew what he was doing. Then again, they did often seem to be rather proud of him when he did things such as this where he put himself out there, so maybe it would be alright.

In any event, he couldn't exactly turn around and run for it at this point as he came to a stop a safe distance from the stranger. The boy did his best to shift his posture to a dominant, but not threatening stance, even though he was sure he looked ridiculous doing it. He was losing much of the lanky teenager look and was actually filling out to a nicely muscled and lean wolf, especially with all of the additional physical activity he'd been up to as of late. But his mental image of himself would probably take a great deal longer to change than his body did.

"If you're looking for our leaders, I'm sure one will be around shortly," Summer said slowly, "Or if there's something else you need...?" It probably wasn't the most logical choice of words, but it was more than the mumbly garbage that was bleating nervously inside of his mind.
