Swiftcurrent Creek this country is ours

Bazi nodded and watched their little leader's tail for a brief moment as she trotted away. Ferdie departed with a tightly spoken "Come" to Jace, and the two departed in the direction of home. Left were Bones and Bazi, whom the latter had pledged to a night of sentry duty without really thinking about the implications. She regretted it now in the aftermath of the adrenaline rush, but it was too late.

The two girls walked wordlessly back to the spot that Bones had picked to spend the night. The younger of the two passed out cold, but Bazi stayed awake for a little while longer, listening until she was sure that calm and quite had descended Swiftcurrent Creek once more.
