Anyone - but newbies would be great! :D Set just outside the border of SC - I am bringing a migration NPC loner into this.
Initially, Bazi had milked her promotion for all it was worth - and looked a fool doing it. Being named second in command did not earn you respect; only the fragile opportunity to work for it. With many long-serving members of Swiftcurrent Creek now gone, the only thing that separated the pearly ghost from the wolves below her was the fact that she had served her time. That made her the de facto incumbent of the leadership position but not necessarily a good leader; a fact Bazi was becoming increasingly aware of.
She had stopped throwing her weight around unnecessarily. There had been no more meetings, no demands that subordinates submit more than was necessary. Relationships were fleeting here, and often failed to progress beyond polite exchanges about the weather.
That night, in the short time between absolute dark and sunrise, Bazi prowled the north-eastern edge of the border. She had caught a foreign scent on the breeze not 30 minutes before, and was zigzagging in the general direction of the murky wetlands. The sky was overcast and starless - a blessing for the northern import, whose fur made it very difficult to hide. She kept her head down and senses alert, staring hard into the gloom, watching and listening for any whisper of movement. Somewhere out there was a pair of eyes that didn't belong.

Hi! Hope you don't mind me joining?
Rina sat on the quiet hilltop, sheltering underneath a few trees. She'd been returning here after her travels, had even found an old den, long abandoned. It's seems that this was her website for now. As she relaxed, taking in the night sky, she noticed a shape moving in the starlight. The scent that hit her was definitely of Swiftcurrent Creek. Apart from one other, as had met none of her fellow packmates. Perhaps now was the right time. With a quick stretch, Rina started looking down the hill towards the stranger.
Under the night sky, the stranger's coat was a light silver, Rina guessed that it was a creamy light in the day. Slowing slightly, she called out as she approached. Hello. I'm Rina. Do you mind if I join you? Rina made sure to keep her posture respectful, well, as best she could while moving. She hoped she'd said the right thing. Rina hadn't much practise conversing with strangers.

Hi! :)
Bazi's senses were on high alert, and she heard the rustle of swift paws on grass long before the newcomer spoke - Rina walked as someone who had no reason to disguise their steps, and although her approach drew one of the beta's plush ears back, she did not break her gaze away from the distance.
"Hello. I'm Rina. Do you mind if I join you?"
The young leader dropped to the ground with an urgent "Shhh!", craning her neck to see who was responsible for the interruption. It was difficult to make out any details, but she knew Rina to be the dark fluff-ball among the recent recruits. Recent recruits. Alyss and Scout had both disappeared shortly after the pack meeting. Bazi doubted how long this newcomer would last, but nevertheless beckoned the girl forward with a jerk of her short, delicate muzzle.
"Come, and hunker down," she whispered. There was no time for pleasantries. Assuming Rina would do as she was bid (her submission was noted), the beta turned her face back to the still blackness. "Do you smell that? It smells like wolf, but not one of ours. I think there's an intruder hiding in the swamp up there." Judging by the cloying scent of stagnant water and the way the creek fanned out and separated, they were close to the wetlands.
Bazi lapsed into silence again, and barely noticed that Rina had chosen not to join her. By the time she realized, a distant rustle brought her attention right back to the murky darkness. Someone was out there.
Edited in a continuation in the hopes that this thread can be revived! :)

Danica only needs one more warrior thread now so totally jumping in! Or would this be more warden? The two seem sorta interchangeable in cases like these ^^;
Danica had been traveling the border keeping an eye out for intruders when she came upon a recent crossing... Bazi. Somewhat curious as to what the Beta was up to, she broke course to follow. Not that she had any right to do so, or that she was questioning the other wolf's motives. Really she wanted a distraction and was hoping Bazi could provide one. She hadn't been sleeping too well recently for some reason and had decided to see if the night could offer something other than disappointment.
At first Danica did not see Bazi, but soon enough that white pelt revealed itself in the darkness. She was hunkered down and seemed intent on something before her. Immediately dropping, she crept forward to join the Beta, keeping her voice low. "Bazi, what's going on?"
Wahoo! Feel free to have the loner emerge / describe him (or her) in your post. Maybe we can do a double spar thread. :D I can sign in as 'Beast' and play the loner.
Danica was quick to fill Rina's spot, and also had the good sense to keep her voice low. It was quite obvious from Bazi's stance that the situation demanded stealth.
"I've been tracking something. Someone," she told her cream-coloured comrade, stealing a sideways glance at the body next to her. They were of similar build, and the Beta was aware of Danica's readiness to involve herself in whatever scuffles found their way to the Creek. Emboldened by the presence of someone possessing combat experience, Bazi crept forward, motioning for Danica to do the same. Her staring match with the invisible eyes had come to an end - it was time to root out the trespasser.
Their slight movement brought forth a low, threatening growl from the unknown in the night. The sound was much too close for comfort. Bazi became instantly tense, hackles cresting like a white wave. "There's our someone."

Can I join in too?
Shadow crept along the border, he was checking it for intruders or unwelcomed visitors when a familiar scent reached his nose...... it was Bazi. He was curious to what the Beta was up to so he decided to follow her scent. It wasn't that he wanted to spy on her, he just wanted some action and hoped Bazi could provide one.
On some days he half wished he was back being a loner, there were more fights and battles to be won on those days. But again, he could die any day out there alone.
He soon found her scent, mingled with another, he sniffed hard before he realized that the other wolf was Danica. He noticed that they were crouching, their eyes intent on something in front of them.
Shadow had the sense to drop down too and he crept forward to join then. His days as a loner helped him, his paws made no sound as he crouched next to them and whispered softly, so softly it was barely audible "What's going on?"
It seemed that at last there would be some action.

Setting this as happening after Dani's thread with Shadow. lemme know if that's not ok! Also, feel free to let me know if you want anything about the loner different, I can edit easily ;)
Danica's hackles rose as well as Bazi spoke, and she growled softly. For any to trespass so close was a definite breach of their borders... such a wolf should be dealt with, and not gently. "Well, we'll just have to give them the good old Silvercreek welcome, won't we?"
Her ears laid flat as she heard another wolf joining from the opposite direction of the intruder, and she turned, but abruptly relaxed as she realized who it was. She recognized Shadow, for they had met not too long ago near Duck Lake. She didn't acknowledge the question, instead staring at the form that began to materialize from the darkness. The stranger was quite large, big enough to perhaps give one wolf pause, but upon seeing them she became quite sure the three of them would deal with the situation easily. She/he (it was still too dark to tell) had a surprising vigor and muscle for one without a pack; from her experience, wandering alone was not the best for a wolf's metabolism. Her pelt (for she had determined the stranger to be female as she came closer) was scarred, presumably telling of a history of combats fought. She looked like a scrapper and one not to be taken lightly, a nasty gleam in her eyes as she aggressively approached.
What the hell does she think she's doing? Danica thought, annoyed. She didn't care the stranger's battle history, only a fool walks into a well established pack's territory alone. Matching the nasty snarl, she took a step forward, then stopped, waiting for Bazi to take point. She still had to follow rank, no matter how badly she wanted to take this wolf's fur off.

It's fine
Shadow's eyes focused on the stranger, the wolf was quite large and her pelt was scarred, probably from the battles of being a loner. He shook himself out of his past as his ears flattened and his hackles rose, she was a stupid fool to walk into a pack's territory alone.
The stranger made no attempt to conceal herself as she aggressively stalked into the pack's territory, her lips curling in a snarl. Danica matched the stranger's snarl with her own as she stepped forward then stopped, no doubt remembering that Bazi was still of a higher rank.
A low growl escaped from Shadow as his fur bristled, inside he was full of anger that the wolf had dared set paw in the pack's territory yet he was also full of excitement that there was finally a battle.
Fireblaze was in the shadows along the border of Swiftcurrent Creek. Four wolves were crouched in the shadows on the other side. She growled to show her dominance.
Slowly, she stepped out of the shadows to reveal herself. The wolves were ready to attack, so she growled again.
Hope you don't mind that I joined. :)

Shadow/Will - remember the posting order! :) Bazi -> Shadow -> Danica -> Fireblaze.
And Fireblaze; I assume you read Danica's post where she invents a character to be our 'baddie'. We will just assume that your character fits that description now. Also make sure you take into account that it's 3 against 1, and realistically, your character is likely to get very hurt or die unless she runs away. If you choose to fight, we will be using the sparring pits to do it.
I think you should either PM me with your choice, or indicate in your next post (after Shadow and Danica post) what you want to do. If you choose fight, I will create a sparring pit thread and this thread will be put on hold until the dice has decided who wins.

A second wolf joined them moments before the big reveal. Bazi recognized him as the enthusiastic scout she had adventured, and woofed a quiet welcome without taking her eyes off their invisible target. Then, like something rising out of water, the trespasser materialized.
Bazi's first emotion was surprise - surprise that a single wolf would approach three fully grown adversaries so boldly on their home turf. She felt Shadow and Danica coil like toothy springs beside her, and the air became thick with Swiftcurrent snarls.
With a loud, vicious snarl, Bazi propelled herself towards the intruder, assuming that her pack-mates would not be far behind.
June 29, 2014, 07:50 AM
Right, sorry
Shadow's silver eyes lit up with the light of battle as he flung himself forward just behind Bazi, his ears flat against his head and his teeth bared in a snarl. A low growl escaped his throat as he skidded to a halt just behind Bazi.
Was the intruder that stupid? To trespass into established pack territory and walk right into three battle hardened pack wolves and still stand that aggressively? In front of the Beta, no less.
Shadow felt the air go thick with tension as the four wolves stood, their ears thrown back and teeth bared. What would be the intruder's next move, Shadow wondered as he faced the scarred intruder.
June 29, 2014, 09:30 AM
Danica continued to snarl. So much posturing, but she supposed the fair thing was to give this crazy individual the chance to reevaluate their life choices and turn tail. If they did get to rip her apart, though, there'd be a little less stupid in the world, and that was fine by her. She did like to do her part to help her fellow wolves.
It didn't take too much longer for Bazi to lead the charge. As she saw her white packmate leap into action she quickly followed suit, sprinting at the intruder, teeth bared and ready to rip. Choose now, stranger. Live, or die.

"Stop," Fireblaze said. "I am on my side of the territory, I believe." She sat down and wagged her tail. "I am Fireblaze, lambda of BDP. I believe you are Bazi, Beta of Swiftcurrent?
"Sorry for the aggressive posture, but I didn't realize who you were."

Post order after me: Shadow -> Danica -> Fireblaze
Edit: :D Just wanted to add that I'm having fun in this thread and that while the Swiftcurrent characters are angry, none if the players are!

The three Swiftcurrent Wolves advanced on the stranger like a storm, bristling with rage. They were moments from all-out attack when the intruder suddenly sat down.. and began to introduce herself.
Bazi stopped in her tracks. She could scarcely believe what she was hearing. "Your side?" she screeched, ears pressed so flat against her head that she looked like a snarling skull. The Creek pack considered anyone who ventured east of the Sunspire a threat - and Fireblaze was no more than a stone's throw away from Swiftcurrent proper.
"Get out. GET OUT, or we will rip your trespassing legs off and leave you for the cougars," the Beta roared, shaking with anger.
June 29, 2014, 12:34 PM
Shadow stared at the stranger, what on earth was she doing? Sitting down and introducing herself? Was she mad? Was she mental?
Wait a minute. HER SIDE? HER SIDE?! Shadow could scarcely believe what he was hearing, that wolf didn't even seem to realize how much danger she was in, she was in even more danger than before. Honestly, couldn't she just run away?
Bazi was furious and rightly so, Shadow's teeth gleamed in the faint light, they shone bright silver as he growled "Get out now, if you know what's good for you!"

Danica's rumble never stopped, not even as the other wolf introduced herself. Apparently she was naive as to how such borders worked. There was no set line, no invisible edge where, if one stepped over, they were safe. It was a zone, and a wide one, where any who entered were too close. And she, right now, was far too close.
Feeling no need to say anything that hadn't already been said, she continued to glare daggers at the offending wolf, hoping Bazi would give the signal soon.

Fireblaze sniffed the air. "Oh, I am very sorry. I am new to my pack, and I have been a loner my whole life." Fireblaze dashed in the opposite direction of the border. "See ya 'round in a friendlier time!"
June 30, 2014, 03:03 AM
Bazi made no move to follow the peculiar female as she made her excuses and dashed off. If she really was a Blacktail Deer Plateau wolf - and god help their alpha if she was - there was more harm to be done in attacking her than not.
"Her side.." the Beta muttered, turning back to her pack-mates with a look of utter disbelief on her face. "Does she not know how to wolf?"

June 30, 2014, 03:25 AM
Shadow shook his head in exasperation and disbelief "What is wrong with some wolves nowadays?" He stared at the back of the retreating she-wolf as her figure slowly vanished into the horizon.
Honestly was she really that stupid? Her side? He shook his head slowly and sighed.

Danica simply laughed as the other wolf departed, that encounter having been one of the most bizarre she had ever taken part in. At least the opposing party had had the sense to avoid messing with them. She wouldn't have stood a chance against the three Creek wolves.
"Did she just say 'see ya around'?" Danica asked, still laughing. "As in, she'll be back? God, I can't even..." She shook her head, not sure whether to be amazed or pitying.

Concluding post from me!
Danica and Shadow didn't quite know what to make of the whole thing either, and the three of them spent a few moments exchanging incredulous glances. Danica even laughed - an sweet, infectious sound that triggered a fit of giggles in Bazi.
"Lunatic," the Beta agreed between suppressed laughter, and motioned for the small group to head back towards the heart of their territory. It was beyond dark now, and there were precious lives to guard closer to home.
