Anyone join! Introduction thread :)

After being accepted into the ranks of Sawtooth Spire, he sought out for a place to spend the night. It was getting late, the sun disappearing between the folds of the mountains and a soft shadow taking it's place. The next day, he would meet his packmates, introduce himself and make a good impression. He didn't show it, but he valued what others thought of him. Not to such an extent as doing everything to please, but to make their approval. But he had to earn it. Hopefully, the deer he had caught with the Alpha would put in some good recognition. It was minimal to what he would do for the pack, but it was a start.

It looked like a violent storm had passed through the area, digging up lands of soil and overturning trees. But it was good for him, he could take shelter under one of the hollowed trees, at leased a decent cover against the elements. But he would have to find a better one soon, the wind was changing, blowing colder and colder each night. Fall was nearly upon them and he needed to be ready. He would no longer spent the chilly nights huddled against his sister, but alone with his own warmth. Life alone was not looking particularly great, but he would manage.

Halting in his footsteps, his nose twitched at the scent of another wolf. Sawtooth, definitely, he thought to himself and relaxed a bit. It was early for introductions but the sooner the better. He would work, live and hunt for these wolves. Shyness and hostility was not an option.

Always good to see new faces! :D EDIT: lmao the site JUST NOW switched to Autumn.
Sociability was not his forte. The past month was proof of this. They have faced enough misfortune to send Sawtooth Spire's remaining faithful into seclusion or elsewhere. Their heartache would diminish but the their scars would remain. Kapvik has taken enough time to mend, to integrate himself back into pack life. It was...a trying task. In those moments of slumberous, lightless privacy, it was easy to fall to inertia. The hardest part was getting back out of it. The wolverine refuted those dour emotions; pushed, pulled, crushed them into bits and pieces. Often they revisited him throughout the day.
INDENTMore have flocked to Sawtooth Spire, he noted. Tyrranus' passing and Arverk's disappearance has not stopped the influx of wolves coming to them seeking shelter, food, fellowship, and a cause. He wondered why this may be but nothing came to mind. Kapvik was glad to see so many join this life. Their philosophies were simple yet every bit as hard to live by. It was not a cushy one and some might trip up along the way, but that's okay. Everyone was afforded to doubt their place here.
INDENTAdjusting the disemboweled coyote upon their borders, he turned to retrace that recent trail heading into the spire. Iqniq's odor meshed with the newbie's. A third scent appealed to his stomach but he ignored it it with a growl. He would feed once he retired for the evening. Slipping into the copse of towering timber and evergreen, the Gamma slowed into a casual stroll. Stopping to sniff at some toppled trees, he hiked up a leg up to mark it. Or, tried to. He was fresh out of excrement. Sighing, he pawed at the exposed bark, marking it via claws and scent glands. Now finished, he carried on.
INDENTHe smelled the wolf before he saw him as he was mostly black. Kapvik approached him with an impersonal posture, woofing lowly to greet and welcome him.

Just gonna refer to himself as Pluto for this post while he get's used to it!

Pluto turned his head to meet the sound of footsteps nearing him. He could see the figure of a stocky looking wolf approaching him. The wolf, he noticed, looked very rugged and he felt the lightest feeling of intimidation. But he shouldn't, he was quite large himself and so say the leased, had an aggressive feeling about him as well. But he was sure there would be no in-pack hostility. From what the Alpha had said, they seemed to be quite tight knitted and he had the feeling bitterness against each other was unacceptable.
Pluto held himself well, showing no sign of weakness or instability. He was by no means proud, but he liked to make an impression. As the wolf greeted him, he gave a slight nod before delivering a small introduction. But he had to remember to introduce himself by his new name, Savik.
"Hello, my name is Savik. "
He wasn't an expert on socialising, he was on the quiet side and only voiced his opinions when it was needed. But he may seem a bit stiff, definitely not a good trait on himself. "I've just recently joined Sawtooth" He added, to clarify.  He had to remind himself to not seem distant, especially around new wolves.

Kapvik did not see the value of first impressions. One might look upon the Gamma and say he is headstrong. It's true he can be obstinate; he was raised to take crap from no one. Too often did others see this and sneer, “he's doing that because he wants power” or “he is a creature of chaos.” Wrong and wrong. The wolverine is simply a test. His very existence has always been to test boundaries. If he grates on one's nerves, speak up. If he opposes one's rule, take action. If he did wrong – be it deliberate or by mistake – reprimand him. Don't silence him. Don't ignore him. Don't let his mistakes continue. Kapvik was more than his faults; his vices. Flawed though he may be, he is a better ally than he is a villain.
INDENTThat is why he did not look upon Savik's posture with antipathy. Was Savik arrogant? Just a tad, in his opinion. The wolverine would not cling to this first impression, however. They were all imperfect, after all. Flawlessness was an unattainable abstract better left to those with their heads stuck in the clouds. Oh. We're on a mountain. Ha ha. Ha. Hrm.I know, Savik,” he intoned with an awry smirk. Savik smelled of the wilderness still. No amount of scent rolling could disguise his newness. Unless you want to roll around in fresh piss that is.
INDENTI'm Tatsuya, though my pack mates oft refer to me as Kapvik.” A title he was growing accustomed to. “Was there any particular reason why you chose Sawtooth Spire?” It was a question he has not asked often.

He listened to the wolf, who called himself Kapvik. He wasn't sure whether or not to call the male by his name or his title, not wanting to offend him. But he chose the latter, whatever suited the wolf. He  noticed that Kapvik came of quite strong, self righteous almost, but he quickly suppressed those feelings. He was in no right to judge, it wasn't his place.

Instead, he avoided conflict, answering the question at hand. "The last pack I attempted to join disbanded before I was accepted, I sought out a new one and found Sawtooth" He stated, clearly. But he didn;t know why his packmate wanted to know why he joined. It seemed more of an investigative question than small talk but he shrugged it off. It was only natural to question the newcomer, trust could not be made straight away. "Sawtooth is a warrior pack, yes? It is a quality I strive to find among packs". He was not fit for just any pack, he had more to offer than just to a small one with no specialties at all. No, he liked the ethnic outlook on the pack, it was it's the essence that drew him here, however strange that may be.

Disbanded? There is more prey all around...They boldly strut through the plains, he noticed, in those dwindling moments secluded upon Spotted Eagle Mountain. A pack would not tolerate that much sustenance running around. As always, prey would be slain and utilized. Hoshor Plain's inhabitants were absent in culling the prey that ran amok their cherished land. A land that, once, belonged to nothing but prey. Oh, how time repeats itself...
INDENTWhat made a “warrior pack,” exactly? Was it their requirements for the trade? Their aggressive aura? Kapvik did not know, quietly musing how to put thoughts into words. “We hold strength in high regard.” Was that an adequate answer? The wolverine did not think so. They were hollow but assuaging words; meant to placate any care regarding Sawtooth Spire's baleful crowd. Or was Savik subliminally entreating Kapvik to battle? He might be reading into the newbie's question too much. Then again, what pack mate would he be to bat an eye at prospective violence? “Unless you don't believe me.” A flash of fangs and antagonistic, burning eyes – would Savik rise to the challenge? I need more practice. Startin' to get rusty.

Savik became to be alarmed at his pack members hostility. When provoked, he was not one to back down to a challenge but this seemed different. Perhaps it was Kapvik's nature to see his words with a different meaning. It was fine by him, but he held himself back from saying something he didn't want to. I truth, he wanted to tell Kapvik that jumping to conclusions would not benefit him, anywhere. But he would never disrespect a fellow pack mate, and never a higher rank. He kept silent about his opinion and instead, approached with benevolence. not to spike the anger that was clearly evident in the male's eyes.

"No, I would never think to challenge another in this pack. You misunderstood my words. What I meant was, I also hold a pack's willingness to work together in strength, in high regard" He explained, his exterior not showing any sign of untruth.

Kapvik's words and actions were misinterpreted, it seems. The wolverine wanted nothing more than to spar with Savik; see where his strengths and weaknesses lie in battle. Instead, he took Kapvik's sweetener in the literal sense. Oh boy. Did he not get the point across well enough? Need he elaborate more? Expression shifting to one of amusement, the (imitative) violent air dispersed with a drawn-out waft of his tail. So much for that approach.
INDENTYou could have asked if we're a tight knit group.Unless your meaning of warrior translates to “a tight knit group.” Which it doesn't.We work together well enough...although our recent hunts have been unsuccessful.” But that had nothing to do with their cohesiveness as a pack. Everything could go according to plan and the quarry still slips away. Somberly he looked down, lips pursed together. “We have young to feed as well.” Kapvik allowed the direful situation to weigh upon Savik. Evidently, a pack is never without its fair share of hurdles.

Sorry for the delay!

Savik queered more as Kapvik actually seemed to want to fight with him, so his body language seemed to suggest. It was a curious thing, the difference between personality for all he had met in Sawtooth seemed to have different outlooks, not that he minded. But one thing was for sure, he would do his best not to end up on Kapvik's bad side for he could fully see that the male was in no hesitance to fight, even with a packmate.

Savik's head instinctively dipped at the tone of the male, but quickly rose once more for he was no longer a subject to such submission. Instead, he gave a passive shrug, not wanting to argue with the male again. "I could have, but 'warrior' sounds much more impressive than 'tight-knitted".
His eyes narrowed at the thought of unsuccessful hunts as an image of starvation passed through his mind. The thought gave him a goal, for as long as he could hunt with them he would never leave empty-handed. "That's unfortunate to hear, I hope I can be of service there" He said aloud, but not wanting to sound self righteous. There was a time and place for showing of and now was neither as the topic was a serious one in light of the coming winter.
