All Welcome! pls come thread with moi
The evening air was freezing. Winter was showing its true colours, but Nyx was determined to not let it get to her. She had to provide, for the members they had gathered and for herself. Luckily, wolves had an advantage when hunting in the knee-deep snow. Between their paws is webbing so they don't sick all the way down into the snow, allowing them to run far faster than a fawn with skinny hooves. Not that she saw one around unfortunately, it would've been a lovely dinner though.
Tulugak screeched as he perched on a branch of a tree nearby. His feathers were fluffed up which made him look like a muppet, but anyone brave enough to tell him that would be pecked in the eye. Nyx went on, but there was still no prey in sight. The fields were as empty as could be...

Nocturnal and her raven-friend Tulugak weren't alone in their quest for food. It was his first season being alive and providing for his own this winter and Epic was in a struggle with the blissful cold and with a never-satisfied hunger. Every opportunity was one he would have to take, he didn't have the luxury to keep seated and ignore the pangs of hunger. Every pang felt like an annoying earthquake or a lion's roar. It was not only very annoying but frustrating as well. Sadly, today he saw no prey; nothing, nada, zilch.
"Well, that's just dandy." He scoffed, kicking a bit of snow up in the air. "No prey, no food, no nothing." Suddenly his eyes caught the sight of another wolf in the area together with her raven pal. "Hey, I guess I'm not the only one not winning the lottery today; there's hardly any prey around tonight."

Her torn ear flicked at the sound of a voice and her mismatched eyes quickly found the young male due to the blanket of snow. It appeared he was simply talking to himself. Nyx herself wasn't a very talkative person and everything she did want to share was with Tulugak, Damien and Aries. The stranger seemed alone, belonging nowhere and wandering wherever. How can such beings exist when there were more than enough groups to join.
She was about to just pass him by, write him off as one of the crazed souls that roamed throughout the wilderness, but he had spotted her.
Indeed. She answered hesitantly as Tulugak protectively fluttered down and upon her shoulder. He didn't seem fond of strangers, but who could blame him.

For a moment the yearling moped, it was okay to be grumpy sometimes. He was young and he still had a lot to learn. It didn't change anything about the fact that he was hungry and that every once in a while his empty belly rumbled with a ringtone of hunger. Strangely he enjoyed her quiet, single-worded response; he could remain grumpy about being angry or he could accept the fact that sometimes life turned out that way. A raven-bird protectively swung past her and he watched gently, having never seen a fond relationship between a wolf and a bird before. But it was obvious these two had a connection.
"So what's your story? Where are you from?" Faintly a scent lingered upon her that he smelled before; of a pack and pack life. But it was so fresh, not an odor that lingered here long-term. Did it mean a pack was just starting out around these parts? There were twelve packs that settled down around these parts and he had yet to see, learn and meet many of them.

Nyx liked to think she could not experience hunger. She was the vessel for a power higher than any of the mortals on earth could ever understand. The incarnation of Nocturnal, Daughter of Twilight and Empress of Murk. But then the rumble in her belly told her a different story. She was just Nyx, Daughter of Kove Apaata and Empress of Damien Melonii's world. Now that sounded less impressive, didn't it?
Tulugak let his guard down after the stranger did not move threateningly toward the duo, bending his neck so he could prune the midnight black feathers of his wings. Nyx didn't have the luxury to hide in her fur though and was nearly forced to converse. She had a job to do; hunt for her lover and friends, and the boy had now become not much more than an obstacle on her journey toward her objective.
It is a story I would rather not relive. She replied ominously, trotting her way to a bush that she could poke her snoot in, much like how Tulugak had done to his feathers to escape the anxiety that came with having to socialize.

Although the other wolf wasn't very talkative, he didn't feel quite welcome either. It wasn't like he expected the other wolf and her raven friend to roll out the red carpet but he was undecided what to make of the situation. His first question was only answered to a bare minimum; a single word. Then, when he showed more interest in her background she made it obvious that it was a no-go zone area. That was fine, he respected that. Still, there was no interest in his presence in return. No acknowledgment either as she completely turned away; placing her snout into the bush-bush.
"Do you want me to leave?" Epic said, having asked such question out of politeness. Regardless, she had probably already answered by her own actions.
