lil deku is poking around outside the den a little bit early but w/e :) come play
the discovery of his sight and ability to hear was something to marvel at. for the boy who had grown so used to his blind state of co-dependence, it had inspired a feeling of autonomy in the dual-colored child. his fearful state had faded away to something that more closely resembled deep curiosity. everything seemed to inspire life in little deku; everything was new and waiting to be explored.
time had given him strength in his limbs, as well. he had gone from fumbling around the den to being able to walk steadily and even trot playfully in an attempt to rouse his mother from her peaceful rest. she would humor him for a short while before slipping back into a deep sleep. when this happened, deku left her and ventured to the mouth of the family den with perked ears and a twitching nose. his baby blue eyes sought the sky immediately – fate had demanded it – and he was stunned by what he saw.
a vast stretch of blue seemed to spread out above him, broken only by the palest and puffiest of clouds that drifted overhead lazily. deku inhaled sharply, rooted to the ground. he had never seen such beauty before. all at once, the child's heart was thrumming with the longing to swim in that endless sea of periwinkle. as if it was encouraging him, the wind toyed with the pale fur along his back and lured him further from the den's mouth.
