The mountain valleys opened up onto the wide grotto known as the Vale, with mountain forests lining a healthy green bowl ribboned with streams. Although it was outside the pack's territory, Cuan had no problem exploring the landscape, his paws gliding across smooth green grass.
With long legs the wolf bounded from the pack's limits, his tail lifted happily as it streamed out behind him. Sometimes Cuan would jump, his ears perked like a fox's as he sailed, the wind resistance tugging his hair backwards. The air was full of scents, from damp vegetation from the recent rain to the strong, earthy tones of the surrounding mountains wafting down from the hieghts. And there were others, too, as the canine slowed his jaunt to a slow walk as his muzzle scanned the tips of the grass beneath his feet. There were animals wandering down from the cooling slopes to winter in Northstar, or travel even farther into the flatlands and it's surrounding realms. Perhaps there were a few animals lingering in the valley that were up for a healthy chase.
