Stone Circle man is the cruelest animal

the sun had beat down against the dark hairs of his coat and caused a great deal of discomfort in the young child. he shuffled from his place outside the den and into the heat to look upward at the sky that seemed as though it was fading to tumbling grey. there would be rain on the air soon, but louie did not know this. he saw only that the burning embers of the sun had been moved behind the clouds and he was left with a moment of cool peace. the only sounds to disturb him were the sounds of birds passing overhead and the wind that carried the promise of the storm on its back.
 
louie found a place several paces away from the den and near to a shady patch of brush where he stretched himself out. the young pup’s watchful gaze glossed over the area that he could see, finding nothing of interest for him. a single ear swiveled atop his head and moved back toward the mouth of the den where he thought he could hear one of his brothers stirring.
