Another one for @Paarthurnax - hope the mild PP is OK. :D I don't know what the location / description is, so keeping it vague.
"Your belly.." Bazi began, staring in wonder at Paarthurnax's ballooning sides, ".. is so huge."
It was unseasonably mild outside, and the two girls were lounging near the entrance to the den they now shared. Bazi had by some miracle procured a rabbit without any assistance what-so-ever, and had returned with blood all over her face and bounce in her step. Combined with the pack's recent successful hunt, the morsel meant they were both well fed and stocked up for the evening.
Bazi was flopped onto her side, all four legs stretched out and head angled towards her rather more rotund friend, whose distended body she could not keep her eyes off. "Do your boobs hurt?" she wondered aloud, utterly unembarrassed in the placid woman's company.

Having Bazi practically attached to her hip was far from irritating, and Paarthurnax was more than glad for the company. She'd missed her friend dearly and the more time they spent together, the more she realised just how foolish it had been to pursue a new life with Shadow. There had been nothing wrong with the one she'd created in Swiftcurrent, where she had been surrounded by wolves she considered family, and Paar was beyond thankful for her second chance.
More than anything, she appreciated that her pups would live. She knew that it was common practice for lone, pregnant female to be either turned away or have their litter destroyed, so Paar was lucky that her children would know the love and acceptance of their pack-mates. She still did worry that some might resent them, considering who their father was and the resources they would require.
She lay sleepily at the den's entrance, her muscles and bones aching from carrying so much extra weight around for the entire morning. Paar was also content with her full belly, and eager to doze now that shed eastern her fill. But Bazi had other ideas, and commented on the desert wolfess' humongous belly. A copper eye cracked open, and Paarthurnax smirked in amusement at her comrade as she stretched her tied forelimbs out before her. "You are a curious one," the crimson beauty said, flopping onto her side. "Ask me that question again when they've been nursing for a few days."

Paarthurnax had an admirable amount of patience. Bazi grimaced at the idea of having tiny mouths chewing on her abdomen for several days straight. "Do you think they'll just drag on the ground afterwards?" she asked, partly to tease, partly because she worried it might actually happen. The desert woman was taller, so theoretically less at risk.
And she was curious. In the days it took the search-and-rescue party to return, Bazi had thought of nothing but puppies. She had not considered it, but she was now of a certain age - and these thoughts were likely a precursor to more primal urges. Thankfully, there was still a winter to weather and a battered body to heal - both of which kept the change at bay for now, and Bazi childlike.

Bazi continued, this time her tone hinting at teasing rather than seriousness, and it was with a groan of discomfort that Paarthurnax shifted her awkwardly large form into more comfortable position. She lifted her head and peered over a russet shoulder at the young wolfess, who despite the brightness in her stormy eyes was still so frail. "No!" Paar laughed, not at all phased by her friend's teasing, for it was lovely to experience Bazi's childish humour again. "Soon I'll start producing milk, you know, in preparation. It can be uncomfortable for a lot of she-wolves."
She rolled her shoulder then, and hiked herself up to rest on her belly once more. The pups within seemed to protest, and Paarhurnax felt a swift kick to her bladder which made her cringe with a soft "ow."

Paarthurnax rolled and shifted like a beach ball in the ocean, unable to settle. Bazi rolled onto her front, easing the weight on her hip and shoulders. She lacked padding, and couldn't rest for long without shifting positions. The two girls made quite a pair.
"What happens if you start preparing too early?" she asked, watching Paarthurnax's belly. When the pups were feeling particularly boisterous, she imagined seeing the outline of tiny paws. "Does it just leak out?"
