Spar thread for @Amon!
There was one member (okay, maybe there was more than one, but she was thinking about this one) that Fox hadn't connected with in quite some time. Amon had joined the caldera on a whim, much as she had done when Swiftcurrent Creek had first formed. Which felt like eons ago, when she actually took the time to think about it. Since then, she'd been an Alpha in three different packs, a Beta in one, had lost a lover, had gained another, and was crossing her toes that Peregrine had managed to put some babies inside her belly. Still, she had plenty of time before she'd be required to "take it easy," and Fox was hoping that she could catch up with Amon before the pregnancy hormones really took over.
Standing on one of the flat sections of land near the actual caldera of Redhawk Caldera, Fox threw back her head and howled for their oldest, and one of their longest-standing members: Amon. Hopefully, he was within range. And if not, she'd just try again tomorrow. He'd have to come back sometime, wouldn't he? She didn't really have anything planned, although the idea of hitting him up for a playful spar might be fun. Fox had a feeling Perry wouldn't let her partake in such fun activities once she was round-bellied.

Few of the caldera wolves really knew Amon, and so it was rare for anyone to ever call for him. But today was different. The beast was crouched in the foliage beside lake Rodney when the call came - attending to the call of nature - and with a scrambled kick at the underbrush to cover the steaming pile of poop behind him, he began to move. He heard the sound of ice melting, or a footstep, and paused - but it was only a chunk of poop melting through the piled snow, leaving a strange brown outline against the pale surface.
Okay.
He was lurching on in the next moment, hoping that whoever called for him would be alright with his slow pace. Hopefully the smell of his previous activity did not linger long - oh! As he came through a crack in the forest, he saw the familiar ruddy red Queen of the Caldera. 'Right. Poop smell? Nope, no poop smell.' He thought, pirouetting quickly, sniffing all the while. Nope, no smell.

Fox!He greeted her jovially, wagging his tail a couple of times before chilling out.
You rang, dearie?

I couldn't resist. <__<
Amon greeted her with great cheer... and an even greater smell. Granted, it was nothing like the atrocity that was Peregrine right now, but it was definitely... “You smell like poop,” she mentioned as if she were commenting on the weather or the price of beans in China. Smelling like feces wasn't terribly uncommon, of course, and Fox had been known to roll in the stuff on occasion. There was just something so enticing about the smell, and she attributed it to some weird nature thing.
“Wanna help me practice my fightin' skills?” she asked, as if she hadn't mentioned the poop smell at all. Considering Amon had been around the block a few times, she figured he probably had far more experience than her in that department. And if there was one thing Fox needed: it was fightin' practice. There had been far too many altercations at the borders lately, and she had to keep her game up. Besides, she'd be out of practice for a little while once her pregnancy progressed along far enough.

Poooop jooookes.
Her initial reaction was so blase that Amon almost didn't hear her; but the sounds registered in his mind, and he began to open his mouth to explain - just in time to be cut off by her sudden enthusiasm for a fight.
You sure that's a healthy thing for a little momma like you to be doin'?Amon quipped, sounding almost like a concerned parent - but the raise of his brows and bemused expression morphed his words in to more playful banter. Fox wasn't stupid, she knew her limits.
Ah, I kid, kid. Sure I'll fight ya.Chortled the beast, as he dragged his paws and sluggishly got in to a proper position - facing her head-on, although his shoulders loomed over his lowered skull.
I ain't the fastest but I'll still put up a helluva fight!
Cue 'Mortal Kombat' theme.

Ahhhh, I already have a sparring thread going on with Elwood. Want to just wing this one instead of using the pits? For variety! Also, hope short posts are ok. ^__^
When Amon lowered his head, Fox took it as a sign that he was letting her have the first attack. Well, that was just fine and dandy with her! Hesitating only a moment, Fox dove in, first feinting a bite to his left paw before darting around and aiming for his pack one instead. She certainly hoped to learn a few new tricks from her old friend, but she thought he might be able to learn a thing or two from her, too. It was all an exchange of knowledge through playful fighting.

Sure! :)
He was a big fat boulder, hunched shoulders and all, and kept himself quite still. Fox jumped in to action quickly, and with spritely steps she dove towards his front paws and snapped her teeth - but Amon didn't so much as flinch. When she redirected he side-stepped and thrust his hip in her direction, pivoting his body in the process. It was a defensive action more than an offensive one - stopping her from sneaking a bite at his feet by dissuading her with his oncoming bulk.
Amon swung his weight around, blocking her attack. So, her feint had not worked exactly as she had wanted it to. It wouldn't be the first time she'd been thwarted by a bulky opponent, and it certainly wouldn't be the last. Fox jumped back, then lunged at the larger, older wolf, aiming for his scruff. For a brief moment, she wondered if she would ever go back to her old ways of causing trouble with the packs around her. Now that she was a mother-to-be, she doubted it. Protecting her children would become her number one priority until they were old enough to fend for themselves, and by that time she'd be getting ready for the next round.
The two continued to spar, and though Amon bested here now and again, Fox liked to think that she learned from each misstep. When they were finally both exhausted, Fox thanked him and went back to the den for a nice, long nap.
