Levi was now an adult. Not quite a year old, but he was told enough to hunt and fend for himself, and so he and Charon had been raised into the adult ranks. Levi felt a little strange about it, like trying to walk in his father's paw-prints and failing. But he would do the best he could and protect and support his mother and brother.
But being an adult now meant getting to know the other adults. He had seen all of them in passing, had even spoken to them some, but Levi didn't know any of them except Charon and Thistle. What were these other adults like? Sometimes Levi felt more comfortable around his younger siblings, and even after what happened with Jorunn, he wanted to protect them. Sometimes the best way to protect somebody was to learn who to trust.
