Thread towards chronicler trade
Outside of it's den, a wolf with a pellet of smoky-grey laid, his head resting on his forepaws. The sky was bright, with a few puffs of cloud crossing the blue sky above. The sun was high in the sky, indicating midday, or at least to Chaska's knowledge. It was mildly warm. A perfect day to be outside.
"...and the spirit of the she-wolf went to the night sky. And every night, her kin would howl to her in her honor" he finished. For the entire day, he had been reciting stories and legends from his childhood. The current one was a legend of how the moon came to be, one of his mother's favorites. It was a romantic tale, so he didn't enjoy it as much.

Bindi had seen the male wolf wondering around the territory and she saw him at the meeting, but she could never recall her properly meeting him. So many things were on her mind, so many horrible and cruel things. She need to think of something else, distract herself with something, or someone. It was time these wolves met their Beta.
She had come across Chaska's scent and began to follow it to where he was. She saw him in the distance and could hear him talking about something, but it seemed nobody was in the area. Was he talking to himself? Not wanting to be rude the midnight wolfess approached him keeping her thoughts to herself. "Hello."

The male wolf was startled by the voice, being lost in his stories. But any surprise he had, he hid very well. He barely flinched and craned his head up and to the side to see the black wolfess he had last seen in the pack meeting. She had a few scars, and half a ear was gone. She looked like she had been a few fights. This was certainly someone he did not wish to agitate. His attention was then drawn to the white patch on her chest.
"Good evening" he returned to her greeting. "I believe we haven't properly met before. You may call me Chaska, if you wish." He looked up to the sky once more. "It is a nice day to be outside, is it not?"

Sorry for the long wait
He didn't seem upset that she had intruded in whatever he was doing and Bindi was pleased with him so far. From what she had seen and how he was acting now, it appeared that this male was polite and easily respectable. She smiled when he introduced himself, and Bindi in return gave her name as well. "It's nice to officially meet you Chaska. My name is Bindi."
When he looked up at the sky she copied him and answered while still gazing up at the clouds. "Indeed, it's a very beautiful day." She was curious about what Chaska had been doing when she found him and couldn't help but ask. "If you don't mind me by asking, but what were you doing earlier....like when you were talking and stuff." She hoped she didn't seem rude and end up making a bad first impression for herself.

It's okay. I'm sure you had a reason
He nodded in agreement at the black wolfess' statement. It was indeed a beautiful day. A good day to be out and about. When she asked what he had been doing, he felt his cheeks grow warm, and hid his face with his paws. He had never been caught talking to himself, and it must have seemed weird to her.
Finally raising his head, he began to answer her question, "Uh...I was just reciting a story. Thanks to some encouragement, I aim to be a chronicler. Guess I'm good at storytelling" he finished, shrugging his shoulders at the end. "Do you enjoy stories?" he asked. Maybe she could help with his latest one.

It seemed he was embarrassed when she told him she heard him talking to himself, but eventually he told the truth. She was glad he didn't make up some story because that would be even more embarrassing for him. Storytelling? It was something the midnight wolfess was not particularly fond of, but at the same time she didn't hate it.
"I never really focused on stories and such, but I do enjoy them from time to time." Her childhood was her one story she had to tell and it wasn't exactly the greatest one. She wondered why he would ask that question? Perhaps he had a story to tell her?

He felt slightly more relaxed, because he had suspected that she may have made fun of him, but she didn't. That brought a smile. And then, he had an idea. Though he was hesitant at first, but when she said that she enjoys them from time, he decided to go with it.
"I need someone's opinion on a story I have recently thought up. You don't have to listen, but I'd feel better if you did." No matter what she thought, he was going to begin his new tale.
"It was long ago, in a far away land" he began. With all of his stories, he began the story in a far away place, long ago. "A pack of wolves existed in a valley. This valley was once lush with green forests and a running river. But one wolf made a mistake. A mistake that ended them all." He paused, waiting for a response on how it was so far.
