For le family in tha den yo
Sound had come a few days earlier, the little girl had finally heard her father, her mother and brother. It just made this world more complex to her. These sounds that her ears were picking, it hurt her, they were so loud. The world was so loud now. After the vibrations, and quietness , this sounded like a never ending headache she needed to get used to, cause it wasn't going away. In the 10 days she had been crawling between her mother and her father, she had learned to know exactly where to go . She had no idea just how big the world was. All she knew was the warmth, the milk, her brother and sleep. A lot of sleep.
However, on this day, the little princess did have a surprise for the inhabitants of the den. She could walk a little, without stumbling too much ( meaning she did mama- dadda before collapsing against one of them) and could hold her head enough. After a good sleep, she felt to be more active, and instinct took over when she decided to do something she hadn't thought off earlier. She aligned her head up, and opened her eyes. Then closed them. Holy shit, that was weird. She opened them again, feeling the pull to do so, and whined loudly before falling on her butt. Huge things , that looked like little thing next to her. She blinked, her vision was not sharp at all yet, she saw only as much as an inch after her nose, and with the den being dark-ish, she only saw shapes.

Burke was laying down in the den. Compared to Kendra he was really one big mass of grey. He was a big wolf after all, it was cute to see how careful he was with them. The father had a rather busy day so he was more than happy to rest his paws in the den. He was used to the extra movement by now, and he could understand certain cries from his children. Some were bad and some were just babbling. He raised his head once the young female let out a whine. His eyes fell on her, and for a moment he thought he saw saw a pale glint behind them. Burke instantly shifted a bit, saying on his tummy.
"Kendra..," he hummed, voice rumbling a bit in a surprisingly warm tone. Frankly he didn't speak much to his children since they couldn't hear anything before. But if she opened her eyes she must have been listening to him talking to Meldresi for a few days now. His nose nudged her cheek gently. "I'm your Daddy," he stated, tone even and low since his voice was deep to begin with.

She was proud of how fast they were growing, even if she had little to do with it other than feed them and keep them warm. Their fur changed with them, especially her son. While she initially thought he would be black, or at least dark gray (she could not tell in the darkness of the den), the boy was leaning more towards Burke's lighter tones. And Burke's legacy, no matter who the mother, seemed to always appear on his children: both of them had little gray dots on their eyebrows that she found adorable.
Meldresi was curled around the sleeping boy, Pietro, and laid quietly as his sister Kendra wriggled around as if trying to stand. They had already begun hearing, and trying to walking, but seeing was something she always loved. They were so shocked and confused by it when their eyes finally unsealed, as Kendra did now. Meldresi chuckled softly as she lost her balance and fell, her head on her forelimbs, watching as Burke cooed to his daughter softly from his place in the den.

Kendra tilted her head , as if to analyze what the hell was going on. She wriggled her nose and connected the sight of that big mass to the scent of the big fluffy thing that was always keeping her warm. So if she could make more information about that thing, then she could also do the same thing with the one big fluffy thing that gave milk. Kendra looked backwards at her mother. She was black and in the den, therefore hard to see, but she made out a shape. She could make out that the head was on her paws and after further looking, she saw her brother, same size than her, same features than her. Unsteady, even in her sitting position, she looked back up at the male. No idea what he just said. Yet she opened her tiny mouth. "Da-da" she repeated not really sure what she was saying, but she had lsitened to them and sounds , that she could mimic. Even if she just repeated the first syllable of daddy.

Burke watched as the pup seemed to look around. Burke's eyes were adjusted enough to see Meldresi with him. His ears popped up in surprise when Kendra babbled something that seemed like her first words. He moved his face closer to her. Before looking at Meldresi. "I think she just tried to say Daddy," he stated with a bit of surprise in his tone. He looked down at the little girl. "I'm Daddy," he hummed again towards the child. His beautiful daughter.
Burke noticed that the girl, as did the boy, both gotten his lighter dots on their brow. Burke smiled at bit at that. Kendra's eyes were blue now, but it was still waiting to see if they would turn pale blue like his or indigo colored like Meldresi's eyes. Either way she would be beautiful.

Meldresi would be smiling during all of the time she spent with her children if it weren't so painful to do so. She adored them, the little things, and just like her first litter, they amused her in their innocence. Nothing made her happier than when they began growing from small, fluffy things into actual wolves.
One of these stages of progression was speech. The speech of a child is so simple and yet could convey so many meanings with a single word. Such was with Kendra's first word: "da-da". Meldresi smiled, lifting her head from her paws as Burke reacted. He looked like a new father, even though this was not his first child. The surprise and the pride on his face was priceless. She said nothing, letting her face do all of the talking. She didn't want to confuse her daughter with more words as she tried to grasp the concept of the word "da-da", nor did she want to intrude on such a moment between Father and Daughter.

Kendra did not understand a word her father said. Just the sound of his voice was known to her. She licked her tiny nose and waved her tail , feeling the energy from the wolf which was positive. It was praise enough for her. She turned her head towards her mother. " maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah" he repeated half howling it , failing miserably , didn't matter, she could make sounds too. Even if it made her stumble cause she was moving her head to test how to change her voice , and her head was heavy enough to make her roll on her side, which made her groan.

Kendra was adorable as she tried to mimic their tones. Burke couldn't hold his smile as she half howled. His ears were already a bit broken with all their cried and howls. Alas, that was what his life was right now. He liked over the girl in praise and then looked at Meldresi to see her reaction. Burke helped her back up as she fell over with a simple nudge. He would never truly admit this but his babies were super adorable.
Burke placed his head on his paws, looking over his two girls. He quickly glance over at Pietro who seemed soundlessly asleep. Well he rather had one trying to talk than two.

Her smile only widened as Kendra howled her name, or, at the very least, her maternal title. She chuckled as Kendra stumbled, falling victim to the unsteadiness of a pup. Burke urged Kendra upwards, and Meldresi nudged the little girl's face, whoofing softly. She had all the motivation and support she needed to walk upright here, and neither of them would let her fail. She was in great hands. Her brother, however, would be a little behind his younger sister, but he would catch up. She knew he would.

Kendra blinked her eyes again. She got up again and moved around, to her mother first , giving her kisses , and sounds. She wanted to play, but as unfocused as she was, she then just jumped on Burke's paw, biting down , actually enjoying rubbing her gums there, cause it was starting to itch. After about 10 minutes of clumsy playing and mimicking tones, Kendra sat down. Yes she should have walked on, train more , but her attention span was as short as her energy span and instead of showing more life, she actually just walked to her brother and settled next to him. Within 30 seconds she was already sound asleep.

wrapping this thread up!
Burke watched with amusement seeing the pup try her gum on his paw. It was cute to see her play so actively. She was so full of life, which he couldn't say for Meldresi. Burke would need to play close attention to Meldresi, maybe even notify Cicero or Potema to help with her mother and why she was still so tired. Burke nosed Meldresi for a moment and then licked her. She would be alright, she was Meldresi. Kendra had gone to nap right now, which meant that burke was also going to get a quick nap before the two would wake up resulting in him to wake up. The pups were in charge of the alpha's sleep pattern now.
