The stars above were just beginning to peak through the serene blanket of blue as evening started to settle on the Teekon Wilds. Marcello left the lake behind and continued on his slow, winding trek north. There was still a chilly bite to the air and his breath began to billow from his nose and mouth like a dragonsmoke as he plodded casually down a weathered game trail. Crickets began to trill and chirp, but it was not nearly a full symphony; Summertime would bring out a great cacophony of song from the small insects. It was only a matter of time, really.
A flash of light, like a tiny sun, blinked into existence to his left and he stopped to gape stupidly. His mind raced to process what he saw until it was interrupted by another blink, and another, and another! A bug whizzed by his ear and he flicked it idly to chase the offender away only for it to return in a brilliant blaze of illumination right in front of his nose. "WOAHHEY!" He cried, careening backwards to land stupidly on his rear. He gawped at the bug as it fluttered away to land on a blade of grass.
Marcello, the brave and bold, carefully found his feet and crept slowly towards the firefly. A smile flashed onto his muzzle and he lunged, chasing the blinky bug off the grass, and away into the sky again. He spotted another and bound towards it with no intention of actually crushing it. He continued to repeat the motions, obviously making a game out of it.

Harley had left the sanctuary of his mountain for a stroll, but the wolfdog didn't get far before hearing some commotion up ahead. The feathery furred male pushed his way through the brush, his milky undertones and sandy speckling were stark against the shadows of the evening, but it was easier to tell that the dark tips to his fur were not black but indeed a deep russet. His amber eyes were bright and friendly, the colors of autumn dancing in the endless orbs. He caught sight of the multitoned male easily, watching him chase the fireflies. Harley was temped to jump in, but let out a chuff of greetings to see how he'd react.
