As the day came to a close and the sun slowly descended from it's kingdom, the woman rose from the confines of her den and set off into the marsh in search of anything decently interesting. Muck clung to her paws and legs as she tramped about the marsh, the muddied water flinging about as the woman desperately attempted to free herself of the entrapping mire. She had not expected the sludge to cause such difficulty but it took a considerable amount of effort to move within the bog and this supposed carefree adventure had turned into a fight for freedom.
As soon as Kivi was free of the ensnaring muck she pulled herself atop a log to rest her now aching muscles, and the very thought of the journey back to her den caused the female to feel a bit nauseous.

The intricately-patterned woman blinked her eyes open. Ughh, was it morning already? Nope. No, it was not, it was night. Flipping night. Had she truly slept that long? Crap. She sprang from the haven of her blueberry grove, which neatly stood on an island of solid ground, surrounded by an ocean of thick mud. She stood for just a moment before taking a leap of faith and landing with one paw in the goopy mud and the rest of her body on solid ground. Being short and strong, it was easy for her to pull her paw from the mud, so she did. The pants of another nearby wolf sounded in her ears, so she sharpened her eyes and stalked forward. Another female, lying atop an algae painted log, up to her legs in thick goo. She snickered softly. "Rough night?" She barked, raising an eyebrow.

Kivi had not a clue about the other that pranced about the muck, her focus was solely on cleansing herself of the vile mud and getting back to den where she could gripe and moan about her failed adventure. However the voice of a stranger caused her ears to instantly perk up with instrest and her eyes shot a curious glance in the unknown female's direction. "You have no idea" she mumbled in return to the stranger's question and stood, silently judging the reddish brown female. As if jealous that the other's pelt remained in better condition than her own, Kivi shook as if she was drying herself after a swim and sent clumps of muck flying towards the girl. "What are you doing out here?"

Sake snapped her jaws in annoyance as clots of mud few towards her, she avoided most, but one caught her smack dab over her heart. She snorted and gave a grumpy-cat look before giving a glance of mock annoyance and a teensy smirk at the woman. "I live here for now. Right over there," she motioned with her muzzle to the misty parts of the bog, where her moss-covered rock in the grove of blueberry bushes. "And you, stranger?" She raised a brow with curiosity and flicked her ears to the right.
