As evening began to dull the land with an overcast sky, the two companions exited the forest, travelling east until their pawsteps came to rest at the banks of the river. With his honeyed gaze bright and filled with hope, the yearling set his rabbit at his paws, tilting his head to glance at the dark joker as he stood beside him. The scent of the borders were pungent; enough to warn any loner of their presence here on the Isle yet with any luck, his Lord and Lady would see his companion as less of a threat and more of an initiate.
Raising his muzzle to the skies, he let loose a wavering cry, summoning the presence of his superiors as he let the last notes fall prey to the winds. He was confident that they would see potential in his friend, even if he'd return maybe once or twice every two moon cycles. Nevertheless, it would be good for their brood to hear tales of the lands for it might inspire them once they were old enough to begin gaining trades.

His own catching hanging loosely from his jaws, Dag followed obediently after Shink and stopped where he stopped. An ear quirked at the sound of his call, and then swivelled toward the isle across the river as it ended. What a neat place to reside, he thought, tail wagging as he imagined being king of his own piece of land. The alpha here was a lucky wolf, that was certain!
Humming under his breath, Dag tried to keep his patience as he waited for response, imagination whirring to life as he tried to imagine what they might be like, what how the terrain was when one actually crossed the river.

She followed the call quickly, having been patrolling the borders at that moment, marking them with her scent as she went. The call was far, and it took her a good ten minutes at a fast lope to arrive. Her pace was hastened by the fact that the howling tune belonged to Shink, and she had thought first that he sought another lesson. But as she pinpointed the location, she realized that it may be for a different matter, and he called for leadership, not for her specifically. Oh well. She was near, she might as well answer the summons until her Lord or Lady got there.
She boldly stalked to the banks of the river, stance drawn up and confident. Her gaze found Shink, and then another, dark male she had no knowledge of. She slipped into the river with her quiet grace, powerful strokes taking her across to the other side quickly. She had become a smooth and efficient swimmer, she noted, after all her time on the Isle. She surged up from the waters on the other side, ignoring the water streaming from her fur, she fixed both Shink and the newcomer with a searching gaze.
"Greetings." she began, addressing them both. Turning her silver gaze on the other, face neutral and proud, she addressed only him. "What seek you here?" she shot a quick, questioning gaze to Shink, wondering if he had brought them a recruit, perhaps. She hoped that he had judged well, and not given too much away, though she trusted in the younger male.

Jenabbi's player! Whoo! :D
Burke was not far behind Aeronwyn, as he arrived on the other side of the river soon after her. He watched how she defended the border even with Shink there. Though for her it was a polite greeting, as he had seen her more vicious. The male wadded through the water and approached them too. His docked tail held up and his pale eyes falling on the black male next to Shink. From the inside he was pleased because it seemed like another recruit. They could use more wolves in his pack.
Burke cleared his throat as he stepped before the dark male. Aeronwyn had clearly stated a question already so he wasn't going to fire another one at the stranger. Though it was clear in his presence that he ruled these lands in the way he carried himself. The alpha gave a tiny nod to her in greeting. He was not telling him his name yet, after all that was secret, they couldn't have other's know that he founded a pack here, only if he knew his intentions he would tell him something more.

Aeronwyn approached first, despite his call for the Lord and Lady of the land yet Shink didn't mind. Her demenour was proud at first, her gaze searching as she scanned both him and his companion but it was expected for she was right to be wary of a dark stranger suddenly making an appearance at the fringes of their land. With a polite nod of greeting towards the pale wraith, he turned his attention to Burke as hefollowed on behind, grayscale and Lordlike beside the white ghost. Malice had not answered his call yet Shink guessed she was keeping her motherly eye rested upon her brood for someone needed to make sure they kept their small figures out of trouble.
With his body lowered beneath the shoulder of the pair, he waved his tail in greeting as Burke approached, tilting his head to look at Dag as if inviting him to introduce himself. He hadn't spiller the secrets of the Isle to the dark joker, using his superiors fake names and merely hinting at what their band had to offer his friend. He hoped that Dagfinn lived up to his curious nature and could bring Arrhendal fascinating stories should he be accepted, otherwise a tiny part of him feared the others would take out the failure on him.

The dark wolf's eyes widened comically at the appearance of not one, but two wolves! Yes! The more the merrier, as his uncle would always say.
"I bring gift!" he sang with a dip of his head, placing the rabbit down with a flourish. "Friend Shink said perhaps I might find a place here; say, maybe, I can sing and scout for his johtaja."
Tail wagging in hopeful friendliness, Dagfinn awaited the response of the wolves now gathered around. Were there more of them? Pups, maybe? Pups were always fun, but he also hoped there would be friends to rough house with - did Shink like to wrestle?

The other struck Aeronwyn as behaving rather as a younger wolf might. She glanced at him, his jovial and amiable attitude apparent. He brought a gift, seemingly wanting to join their ranks. It was good, to bring such a gift, it proved that you had respect and, at least, rudimentary hunting skills. His words hinted at his trades, bard, and scout. Her eyes focused on him in interest, they had none wishing to pursue the bard trade.
Her gaze travelled to Burke, making no comment but wondering how he felt on the issue. She wouldn't, as it was not her place, speak here, unless asked. She was here to judge for herself, it seemed that this male, should he join, would not make one of her students. But nevertheless, he certainly was interesting, and she would watch and see where this went.

Burke noticed the youthfulness of the other too, however he was willing to see through that. The male studied the other. Perhaps he could take on hunting and being a bard, a story teller. Who knows. Burke watched the rabbit and took it, to then place it on the other side of the bank for now. "Thank you," he spoke when he returned to his pervious spot. "The lady of his pack loves rabbits in particular. Do you fancy a career in hunting? Or do you rather like scouting and singing more?," he asked.
"This is a pack of learning and ambition, can we expect such a thing from you?," he asked. He looked at Shink wondering how close they were as friends. He then glanced at Aeronwyn to see her reaction to this all. He was not sure if he wanted a wolf that kept on singing. It might give him a headache. Yet, there were still the numbers he was worried about, so the male might be more lenient in giving this male a chance.

Whilst many words were exchanged between his newfound companion and his fellow pack mates, the agouti boy lowered himself to his haunches his honeyed pools alight with confidence as Burke latched his jaw around the limp carcass of the dark jokers' gift and placed it across from the group to reside on the opposite side of the river. With ears twitching in uncertainty, he let his focus move from the rabbit and back onto the youthful framework of Dagfinn, awaiting to hear what he would say in reply to his Lords' query.
The yearling knew they were tight on numbers at the current time and with two hungry pups to feed, they'd need every available wolf to aid them in ensuring their brood would make it through to adulthood. He was certain his friend would be a great asset to the pack, perhaps acting as a scout as well as the bard he sought to become to locate allies and rivals and determine the best hunting grounds. Shink could tag along on many of his journeys should he be allowed as scouting was one of the two possible trades he wanted to pursue.

Most of the words were familiar to Dagfinn - he was fairly proficient at this foreign tongue. But sometimes, during long sentences, some of the words got jumbled around. Hunting - "Yes, can do!" he said with a nod. "Like singing and scouting - I enjoy to travel far and away!"
In truth, Dagfinn was not a very ambitious wolf. He did not understand the sort of Order this pack demanded, and would probably not fair well in their ranks - if they kept him long enough to fair at all! He was not the solemn or scholarly type, nor did he contribute any more or less than the average member of his home pack.
He was a child and a romantic at heart, doing whatever life placed at his paws.
"Yes, ambition," he said with a nod - for exploration was his one and only.

@Dagfinn @Aeronwyn skipping people because the last reply has been more than a month and Dagfinn shouldn't be kept in a loop.
Burke nodded towards the dark male. "Well, you are welcome to stay with us and work on your trades," Burke spoke to the male and stepped more aside as a sign that the male could pass. He would keep an eye on the male just in case if it would work out for him to be in their pack. For now Burke was very open to accept new members. He would at least give wolves a chance instead of judging them like was expected at Black Feather.
"Welcome to Arthendal," he wished their newest member. Perhaps it would work out well. They could use a scout, someone that would keep an eye out on the brotherhood. "When you go on a scouting mission come to me first, alright? I have some matters to talk through first," he explained. Burke gave a nod to all now this matter was handled at their borders. He would socialize with this male later.

He did not think, at first, that he would be allowed to join. Though Shink had been friendly, they seemed a solemn bunch, and Dag was anything but solemn. However, something in his bearing must have been pleasing to the weathered male; Shink's alpha stepped aside without, seemingly, too much thought, and Dagfinn simply stared for a moment, uncertain.
And then, with a happy yip, he realized that he'd been accepted. He'd found himself a home, even if he planned to travel far and wide from it.
"Thank you, thank you kind sir!" he said with a grand and sweeping bow. He bounded into the river, taking a moment to marvel at how warm it was, and then entered his new homeland without another worry.
