AW - maybe someone from Arthendal?
something had come and paintstakingly made the river its' bounty, the reed-shorn bank its claim. the gamine priestess felt repelled by the scents that patrolled heavily the river's flanking, and with a groan she made south.
she had planned to cross at the southwest junction, but the fiercely laid scat and markings said plainly their purpose. inwilling to trespass (and equally unwilling to callous her paws further) the priestess sat at the bank and pondered her options.

She had her eye on the guardian specialty, and such had been patrolling the borders more often these days. Burke had honoured her by making her Arthendal's first scholar and Warlord, to him she felt a fierce loyalty and respect and refused to let the ash grey male's trust in her waver. She dedicated herself to her position, learning and honing her skill so that she may teach more to others.
Today she was at the borders, slipping along the shore as a phantom might. Her gaze fell upon another, a earth-toned woman, sitting casually at the opposite bank of the river. What was her business here? She had not called for leadership, making Aeronwyn question her purpose here. She strode silently from the trees, revealing herself and standing in a quietly dominant, proud stance. "What seek you here?" She spoke louder than she usually would have, to be heard over the quiet burbling of the river.

@Aeronwyn do we want to wrap up since this is older?
there was little for arunik'ra to debate over, all the same she took time to arrive to her conclusion: she would skirt the river and see how large a swath this new pack had carved for their home. just as she was about to rise her progress was halted by the arrival of a distinctly pale wolf. arunik'ra set her jaw carefully, her gaze trailing the scarred woman. there was nothing about the stranger to suggest she was overtly hospitable, and so the red dagger steeled any quips. "observing." she admitted, lifting her slender muzzle to indicate the terrain in which she surveyed: "seems occupied now, no?"

so sorry for the wait!
"it is." was her reply, wondering what exactly this wolf sought. If it was joining he wanted, he was doing a rather poor job of it. Perhaps a scout, or a wanderer. Her brow slipped upward, a wordless inquiry should he have something else to say. She could give out little information of Arthendal, and she knew very well her lord and lady sought no allegiances.

the wolf did not expand past an affirmation; arunik'ra regarded the female coolly, put off by the tight-lipped reply. she was well aware the old adage one could catch more flies with honey than vinegar, and as such, smiled a cloying, sweet smile in return.
"does this occupancy not have a name?" she queried, her tone somewhat airy despite the directness of her question. "it is not that far from an occupancy i myself am part of."

"that it does." she answers civilly, yet she is to give nothing away. her Lord and Lady forbid it, and she will not go against her word. she knows or two packs in the area nearest them; the one in the copse, yet she does not know should it still be there, and the one in the glade she holds a fiery resentment toward.
but this one does not hold the scent of the glade, and she has parted ways favorably with Eshamun. if she is correct in her assumption, then she has no quarrel with the wolf. "I am afraid I can not give you much of the information you seek. but I may tell you this; our home is the Isle, and we are ruled by Lady Absinthe and Lord Thor. We seek neither quarrel nor alliance with others, and your own occupancy has little to fear from ours, should peace be a similar goal." she tells the woman smoothly, and not a trace of ice nor Malice exists in her tone as he does. best she know all she can tell.
so sorry for the wait on this again, I'm horrible!

arunik'ra lacked the perspective to think the wolf was being anything but coy; she grew annoyed and it showed on her sharp features. what good did it do to be so shifty? they were practically neighbors.
she felt a heat flood to her visage and her ears pulled back in a gesture of irritation. she felt aeronwyn was being surreptitious. as far as she was concerned, there was no possible reason to be so withholding.
"i cannot say for certain; i find the obviating most annoying. a simple way to avoid making enemies is to be forthright and transparent, don't you think?" she wondered what possible reason she had to be so secretive -- and immediately came to the conclusion whatever reason it was, it was a negative and/or threatening one.

The other did not seem pleased in the slightest with the secrecy, and the woman's ears flicked in subtle annoyance. yet her expression did not change, and she offered the best explanation for their secrecy that they could without the potential to tell more than she ought to. "because" she begun simply, voice still even "certsin names have power; that with the potential to set in motion events that are not easily resolved nor without lack of bloodshed." she finished, gaze cool as she surveyed the other. she herself was not quite so forthcoming in information, though she did not ask. she had come the their borders, not Aeronwyn to theirs.
