Location: At the borders of the Ryūjin packlands. I couldn't leave the post without a prefix, so I had to choose Sunbeam Lair. I swear Yllka is not trespassing! D:
It had been almost a week now since Yllka had arrived at the Teekon Wilds. The weather has made her stop her journey further north. She had already traveled quite far and being alone had made the trek even harder. Her diet had consisted of things like mice and voles with the occasional rabbit or hare. Maybe a bird, if she could manage it. – She wasn't the best at catching birds. Most thought that because she was uncommonly large and rather lithe meant she was graceful and agile… but that wasn't always the case. – Yllka had been trying to hunt a vole when she came to the border of the pack's territory she now sat near. The need to find a pack was more important than food at the moment. There was no way she could survive the winter without finding one. And it didn't feel like coincidence to the wolf that she came to a pack's borders.
She hadn't seen any wolves come or go, but she had the occasional feeling of being watched. She thought that she saw a pair of eyes peering at her once, but they were gone in a blink of an eye. The giantess wondered if maybe the eyes she had seen were a scout or simply a pack member. If they had been of the upper echelon of the pack, she assumed, that the wolf would have approached her. Wasn't that how it worked? Yllka didn't really know. She had been born into her former pack and had been a scholar, studying the stars and learning their stories. Her head has been mostly in the clouds then and she realized, during this journey, how little of the world she understood. She only knew the heavens and her only friends were the stars.
The great she-wolf breathed a soft sigh. What a pathetic life she had lived thus far. A life of study wasn't really a life, was it? She had knowledge of the sky and the gift of stories, but little else. That's what has compelled her to leave her former pack. She needed more—wanted more, and she wasn't going to find it there. Maybe she could find it within the lands of this pack: that's what she hoped.

at the borders the woman sat, and yet she did not call. The argent woman had found her quickly, purely by chance, and but a brief flash of eyes betrayed her position as she simply watched. She had not called for an audience, as was custom, nor had she trespassed, the verdict which for would be heavy. No, she did naught but simply sit, and after a moment of watching and determining that the woman seemed to be waiting, the argent woman strode forth, tail paralell with her body and head raised proudly, eyes piercing and intelligent.
how did she expect to be found when she did not call? But the woman hardly dwelled on this, nor would it be within her character to utter the thought aloud, for more pressing matters, such as the large woman's purpose here, were to be discovered.
"what seek you on the borders of my Cheiftess' tribe?" she asked softly, though her voice was steady and firm as she beheld the other, stance benefiting one of a pack but not quite of a leadership tier. Silently she would wait for an answer, would it be that she sought information, or was simply passing through.
The foreigner was oblivious to her error. She had never learned that a wolf must call at the borders in order to be met. If she had really been conscious of herself, she would have realized how silly she had been to not make her presence known. But the poor thing had no idea. She had heard calls at her old pack, but the sounds quickly left her mind as she studied.
The wolf that greeted her, she noticed, was younger than her—and she was the owner of the eyes she had seen earlier. Yllka smiled at the pack wolf. The other wolf's tone was not unfriendly, but it has a strength in it that intimated Yllka.
“I am in search of a new pack,” the loner confessed. “I should like to join yours, if you will have me.”

Avannon had been hunting, the evidence of her catch a reddish tint around the solid white fur of her muzzle. She had been walking back when she saw Hisaya and a unknown female speaking. She wanted to just go back to her den and relax, or mope was more like it. Yet she looked at the strange woman and at Hisaya and thought maybe another presence would calm the atmosphere.
Striding forth she sat a good distance away from Hisaya and nodded to her out of respect "Hisaya" she greeted and moved her gaze to the stranger, casting her a slight smile and a flick of her ears. "Since I have just arrived, I will leave the decisions to Hisaya. But I am here to lend a paw if needed" she said her voice calm, but with a hidden strength to it.

"Avannon."
her greeting, serene and betraying nothing. she was grateful for the respect shown, how her packmate did not interfere even though neither of them would have the final decision here. she allowed a brief smile to grace her muzzle before turning to the woman once more.
"very well. I shall call for my Cheiftess, for she will make final the decision whether to allow you entry." Certainly her sister would ask more of the woman, but after she had tipped back her muzzle and sounded her summoning call, when the final notes had faded on the crisp air, did she ask of the other; "what is your name?"
Her voice was serene and soft, contrast to her piercing eyes that sized up the large woman quickly. She knew very well that Ryujin could use more tribe members for the winter, and this woman had very little chance of being turned away as long as she respected the Dragoness and had something that she may contribute to them.

Almost as soon as Yllka explained her intentions, another wolf appeared. The fur around her lips were stained with blood. She greeted the other pack wolf and seated herself nearby. She then addressed Yllka. The cream-coated wolf wondered at the last phrase of her sentence. What did she mean? Were they expecting Yllka to cause trouble? Yllka shifted uncomfortably. She knew she was large, but surely she wasn’t there to cause any sort of problems for the pack. “I really don’t mean to cause any trouble,” the she-wolf explained, looking between the two others.
She tried to adjust her posturing. Maybe somehow her stance was threatening?
“My name is Yllka,” the she-wolf answered eagerly, looking at Hisaya. Her eyes were big and hopeful. Then a grin came across the large wolf’s maw. They were going to call the Chieftess! They were going to let her join!—maybe. She just had to impress the Chieftess now. How was she to prove she was useful when she knew so little beyond the stars and their stories?

The call is made when he's standing near Asterr and the girls, watching them listen to their mother about something he should probably listen to as well. Instead, he lifts his gaze in that direction. Ukko knows the call is not meant for him but there is little urgency to it and so without breaking up the decision, he urges her to let him handle it. He has the same power as Asterr does, no matter how little he knew. He makes his way to the cavern to find two scents he easily recognizes, albeit not being around them much since they first met, and a third stranger sight nor sound can reveal a memory.
He nods to his two pack mates first before his attention is drawn out toward the stranger. "I am Ukko, Cheiftain," he introduces, having just caught her name. "And what is this?"

Her chieftain arrives quickly, introducing himself and asking of the situation. She responds with a dip of her head, eyes on him as she speaks serenely. "This is Yllka. She seeks a home." That was all she had gleaned from the encounter thus far, along with a few other tidbits of information she found unimportant and not based entirely on fact. She stepped back, searing herself a short distance form her chieftain, allowing him full charge in the situation as her rank commanded.
