With her belly still full from Wintam Dina the previous night, Freyja pulled herself groggily from the den that morning. She was met with a frigid slap to her snout once she was fully out of the den. Though she was tempted to turn tail and go back to sleep, the child convinced herself otherwise and shook her coat sternly. Despite how disgusting she felt, she would not fall to such temptations. It was not often that she felt the need to lay around, and it was even rarer that she even listened to herself on such desires, but with the dropping temperatures Freyja found that denying herself was more difficult than she had anticipated.
Her winter coat was coming in nicely and kept her warm enough during the day. But, for whatever reason, she found that it never seemed to help whenever she first exited the den.
Naturally her paws drew the Feisripa southward as she was put into autodrive. Frejya often found herself traveling further and further from the location that Goliath had held her underwater to simply get something to drink before she officially started the day. Doing just this, and still somewhat in a haze from her sleep, Freyja made her way to the river with a sense of determination. Though she had no official agenda for the day, she wanted nothing more to get started as early as she could so that she could cram more into the day.

;)
Chessur always got an early start. Gona habits, but also she was getting ready for another herb stocking run. She wanted to make the most out of Drageda's caches before they ran dry, so she decided that she should try by the river and see if she could find some thyme or watermint. She ran as fast as possible, she liked to be where she was supposed to be in as short amount of time as possible. Soon she came to find a nice winding river, engraved into the rocky terrain like cursive upon a wedding ring.
She walked up and down the span of the river, searching for the herbs she was looking for, but instead of thyme and water mint, the red furred woman found a wolf. A younger female cloaked in light, with amber eyes like her own. She watched the female from far away for a moment, from how young she looked, she wondered if this was one of Gavriel's pups that Portia has spoken about. She barked to eat the girl's attention, her stance wide yet open. She had no intention to spook the child, only to meet her.

I was hoping you'd join! :) Welcome to SD, btw!
Soon enough Freyja’s meandering brought her along the shore of the river. Though she was still mindless in her wandering, Freyja was mindful of the destination in mind. For her, this early in the morning, it was not the journey but the ending location that she found most important. After drinking her fill, the child would be as awake as ever and ready to take on the day.
Most days she was not interrupted in her trek, but, today was different. A nearby chuff caused Freyja to pause and turn towards the other wolf and as she did this, her ears perked. She did not recognize this wolf immediately as the newcomer at Wintam Dina and so she found herself drawing a momentary blank as she looked to the other.
Expectantly, she looked at the other as she picked herself up to be a little taller, hoping that the woman would introduce herself accordingly.

ty! :D also sorry for short post!
The girl picked herself up higher, showing dominance. Suri nodded, respecting the girls courage and power. She tucked her tail slightly and bowed her head, her big golden eyes glowing as she raised her gaze to the young females.
Ai laik Chessur, Kru kom Drageda. She spoke, wondering if the girl could speak Trigedasleng. If Portia could, then surely a clan born could as well. Unless of course Suri was mistaken and this wasn't Gavriel's child.
Chit ste yu tagon? She asked, allowing her tucked tail to sway at her hips comfortably, hoping to ease some of the younger girl's tension.

No need to apologize! :D
The sound of her common tongue was always one to bring a smile to her face and Chessuer’s words were no exception. She was more than pleased to see that more wolves were making the journey southward to join them. Though Sleeping Dragon’s numbers were strong, it was helpful to have more members-- especially with the prospect of new life being in the picture. Whenever Wildfire did get pregnant, the pack would be down one of their most prominent hunters. Freyja already knew that she would make even more of an effort to bring in food for their cache in the leader’s absence.
“Monin,” she replied with a smile. “Ai laik Freyja, Feisripa kom Drageda.” Pride laced within her tone as she introduced herself from her heightened position. “Kom op?” Freyja knew that she had been present for Wintam Dina, but, how long before then had she arrived? She waited, her smile warm despite her rigid posture.

Chessur could hear clearly the pride in the younger girl's voice. A feisripa, yet another rarity it seemed among the Drageakru ranks. Even more elusive, a shouna or fleima. There were so many Gonas here, Suri was surprised that Heda would've allowed it. They needed more variety, in her opinion at least, but Suri was just a critical stubborn woman. Freyja asked a question, and Suri was quick to answer.
Ears perked in a friendly manner atop her head, the red woman took another step towards Freyja, sniffing at the young female's pelt to get accustomed to her scent. When she finished she bowed herself, inviting the girl to do the same.
Ai kom daun sen nats kom gon, kom Trigeda. She explained, had it really already been a week since she'd arrived from Trigeda? It seemed like a much longer time period, with all the events that had happened, but it had only been seven nights ago.

A week. Freyja was surprised that it had taken her this long to be officially acquainted with the other. But she would not let this get to her. Instead, she’d make more of an effort to reach out to the newest members of the pack. She added this to her ever-growing to-do list.
She watched carefully as the other reached forward to sniff at her, but she did not move a muscle. Instead she stayed still to let the other get more familiar to the pack’s scent. When the other pulled back and bowed, Freyja took the opportunity to reach forward and to the same to the Kru. Her tail swayed gently as she sampled the other’s smell, not really knowing what to expect. She had never been able to smell the scent of the north, but as she sniffed she was easily able to catch it. Though it was not much different than the smell of the mountain-side, there were some noticeable differences in it all. She was surprised how the scent of Drageda had already settled heavily upon the red-furred woman’s pelt, but she did not take a point to comment on it. Instead, she tucked that information away for a later date.
“Chit kofon os?” She asked suddenly once she had pulled back, curious to know what this woman had to offer the pack.

oOH ok thank you! I do post from mobile because my laptop is an actual garbage dell from -2007 so I didn't realize there was a hover at all LMAO! I'll start doing that now :)
Chessur stayed bowed down, remembering her place as the younger girl checked her out, sniffing her up and down. She wondered if Freyja could smell Trigeda scent on her still or not. She probably could, but even Suri herself had kind of forgotten what it smelled like. She was integrating into her new home well, and she liked who she'd met so far. Even some of the outsiders didn't bother her too much, like Portia. When Freyja had finished the girl stepped back, and Suri raised her head from the ground, flexing her back leg for a moment as the girl asked her a question.
Ai mana laik a fisa, ba ai laik seintaim trakrona kom laik gona. Ai was gona kom Trigeda. She explained, blinking slowly.

No worries at all! :D
A flutter of excitement stirred within the child as news of the other’s abilities were revealed to her. “Os,” she replied, her eyes shining at the news. It would do them well to have another wolf of medicine amongst their ranks. Another Gona? Well, that was another story. Though warriors were always needed, the child felt as though they really needed more diversity amongst their rankings. After all, with both of her parents and her Gona-aspiring siblings, the pack already had a good number of warriors already.“Hit op Portia?” she asked then in response to the news, her tail swaying gently. If she hadn’t, she knew it would do them all well to meet. Perhaps the two of them could divide and conquer herb wise.

Chessur smiled as Freyja praised her, with what seemed to be a common phrase around here. Os. She dipped her head as a thank you, tail swaying lightly behind her thick curved hips. She licked her lips for a moment, the dry winter air was beginning to set in. Not that she minded, since Trigeda had been far colder than this, but she wasn't fond of winter anywhere. Freaks asked if she'd met Portia yet, and Suri nodded.
Chessur wanted to see what Freyja could do, as a huntress. She stepped back a few feet, shaking her pelt of the brisk cold.
Sha, em chich os gon yu en yu bros en sis.

Homplei? She asked, glancing back to the cold river.

She smiled at the news of the praise, her tail swaying gently at this. She would make a point in seeking out the medicine woman to see just how she had been faring. It had been quite some time since she had interacted with the multi-toned woman and knew that a catch-up was more than overdue.
To Chessur’s next question, Freyja’s eyes brightened and she nodded. “Chit yu gaf?” she offered, pausing momentarily after speaking to inhale deeply. It seemed as though there were rats nearby, as well as some hares and birds-- plenty of options for the women.

Chessur flicked her ear at the teen's question, kicking her paws as she was eager to begin.
Yu laik feisripa, yu sad in.She nodded to her, not only eager to hunt but also to see the younger girl's skills. To become part of Dragedakru at such a young age, she must be very good at what she did. Suri had become a gona herself only around her first birthday, and Freyja didn't seem to even be that old. She turned and looked around again. They could fish at the river, but Suri wasn't the best at fishing. She'd prefer the wooded area, but still she left it up to Freyja to decide.

She noticed the other’s sense of impatience in regards to the subject matter. Standing a little taller at the other’s reply, she exhaled heavily. “Oso homplei rat.” she decided then, turning tail on the older wolf to follow the scent. Though the scent of rabbit was all too strong, there was something within her that just craved rodent. Licking her lips, her lifted her tail-- directing the other to follow-- and started off.
She knew that the scent wasn’t that far off, the scent seemed to be leading them to the geysers, but, she choose not to disclose this until the other wolf was at her side.

Chessur thought rat an odd choice, seeing as there was so much rabbit scent around this area. But she had given Freyja the power to decide, so she wouldn't hold her back. She blinked slowly, and nodded briefly to the younger female then took off after her, ready to hunt. She ran a few yards to catch up to her new hunting companion then slowed down at her side. Next to the younger girl, Suri looked massive. She wasn't actually too big, she was an average sized female. But she had lots of muscles, fur, and accentuating curves that made her seem bulkier than most.
Like Freyja, Suri caught on the scent of rat as well. Rabbit still swirled around in her mind, but now at least she knew that the rat wasn't too far away. She followed the feisripa's lead mostly, her tail swishing with excitement.

Their paws brought them along the river and towards the geyser. Though the smell of rabbit was rather tempting, Freyja kept her head in the game and followed the active trail that she had decided upon. Soon enough, the pair was in the geyser field and the scent of rat was almost overbearing. Pausing as her feet touched the more rugged surface, the Feisripa turned to her hunting companion.
“Raun,” she offered, her eyes turning back to the fields. She keep a keen eye out for it and, soon enough, the scurrying figure of a rather large rat could be seen in the distance. Quickly, a plan formulated in her mind. “Yu gyon au lesad. Ai gyon au rasad.” She would want the Kru to distract the rat while she crept in the opposite direction. She explained this quickly, as well as letting the other woman know she’d let her know when she was about to strike with a gentle lift of her tail. With a gentle chuff, she dismissed the other, waiting to see just how this would all pan out.

:D
Chessur followed the girl along the river, trying her best not to turn and follow the rabbit scent instead. She wondered why the girl was so keen on rat alone. Perhaps Freyja had something against rabbit, or maybe she was just trying to prove her exceptional tracking skill. While Suri would've taken the easy prey, Freyja knew what she wanted and went for it. Suri decided that she liked this girl, she liked her fire. Soon the two women were at a geyser field, the air seemed thicker here. Freyja turned to her and spoke, and Suri turned to scan the field as well. Her eyes rested on the fat rat, that scurried about the rough ground.
The younger grey woman formulated a plan, and Suri listened attentively her face stoic as usual. She was to go to the left, Freyja to the right. She then explained how she wanted Suri to distract the rat while she prepared to attack from behind. She nodded in understanding and took off left, her posture as low as she could be. The fact that she had long red fur didn't help her blend in with the grayscale backdrop, but she would have to manage. Her golden eyes didn't move from her target, she watched it twitch and sniff at the ground. She started making small yipping noises, hoping to get the small animal's attention.
Just as she hoped, the rat turned its small brown head with a snap, its black eyes wide with fear. She crept towards it slightly, her low growls still audible. The small rodent froze in its tracks, just staring in Suri's direction blankly. She would keep it in this area for as long as possible, and wait for Freyja's signal.

Having taken the commands well, Freyja watched on as her hunting partner set off in the direction she had been instructed. Though she didn’t mean to, Freyja looked carefully at the other’s form in her stalking and appreciated how the other woman held herself. Sleeping Dragon needed more hunters and she was glad to know that one of the recruits from Trigeda had a broad repertoire of skills under their belt.
Soon enough, Freyja followed suit. She pulled herself to the ground as she stalked forward, her body gently cradling the earth with every ginger step she took. Soon enough, she found herself in launching distance. She paused her, her chestnut-colored eyes seeking those of the Kru. When they locked, Freyja lifted her tail as if to give the signal.
It was time, she decided. And from here, all she could do was strike. With the rat still distracted, she sized the opportunity and leapt on the creature, landing as she tied her jaws neatly around the rodent’s neck, a satisfying snap could soon be heard and with this the creature limped. A smile crossed her lips with this as she let go and brought herself to a stand. Nodding, she beckoned for the other to take the kill.

Chessur continued to distract the rodent until she caught the amber eyes of her hunting partner. She locked her gaze with the girl until Freyja gave the signal. Only moments later the small grey huntress had the rat held tightly in her jaws, it moved no more. Her tail flagging with pride, she walked forwards when Freyja gave the signal. Before she took the rat, she dipped her head in respect to the girl, giving Freyja her approval. Freyja had impressed Suri, and gained her trust and respect, which wasn't something that Suri gave out willy nilly.
She picked up the rat and took a few bites before passing it back to Freyja. The girl had made the kill, so she deserved the best bits of it.

Wrap this up? :) This was a fun thread, thanks for joining!
She watched on as the the other took the first bite, and though often food dominent, the child allowed this. She felt that this was the best way to allow Chessur to feel even more welcomed to this branch. When the food was pushed in her direction, Freyja bent over and took a few bites before passing it back to the ember-coated Kru. She smiled kindly. Though she had not spent much time with the other, Freyja felt that Chessur would be a very welcomed addition to Sleeping Dragon and as such she would make a point in about a week or so to reach out again.
“Ai laik odon,” she informed, her eyes sweeping up from the rat to look to the subordinate. “Choj op.”
December 15, 2016, 09:32 AM
Chessur watched as the ashy furred wolf ate her fill, and when she was done she passed it back to Chessur. The red woman nodded and finished the rat off, her stomach was now satisfied, and she could continue her task of searching the territory for more herbs. When she finished she licked her pink tongue around her jowls, some of the rodent's blood could still be tasted there. Then she stepped back and bowed her head again in respect.
Then she turned and walked back the direction she came, heading towards the river to scout it some more.
Chof, ai na gon we nau.
