All Welcome
A moon and a half since departing from Skullsmarke's claim, and the winding roads of the wilds were just as she knew them to be in this new place and time. Open, expansive, and unending. Jomyo could will away the hours, one after the next, devoted just enough to keep herself surviving and taking it all in—down to the last detail. Serving as a scout had always kept her in prime shape for it, so really, this was no different, only with no leaders to report to immediately or a known home to turn back towards for a rest. But, her attachments had been kept lose on purpose, she simply moved on when the timing was good enough. She had taken to the routine of flying solo once familiarity kicked in and got comfortable. It felt good to run wild across the ranges again.

Her brother's last message said he was heading northward and towards the coast, so the spry Eizokusei let that be her only guidance beyond the landscape itself as distance passed underfoot day by day. Rendezvousing with him could prove worthwhile, as it often was. She guessed his birds had kept his span of knowledge far and wide, so finding him would never hurt. She'd find whatever else she could along the way.

And so, for a handful of days she had been tracing this one mountain range that caught her eye. Being undisturbed so far, and able to scavenge her merry way along, gave her no reason to change course just yet. When curiosity finally drove her up into the higher elevations, and the going didn't seem particularly tough, she found her way to this peculiar tall shelf and thought she quite liked the view; she could see for miles and miles, with possibilities spanning almost just as widely.

Jomyo slowed her forward progress and eventually decided to camp up here for the day, but she still had plenty of daylight to kill first. She would spend it perusing the nearby hotspots, for a start, at least, and lowered her nose to the earth to find them.

In keeping with the traditions of her family Hemlock had decided to gather a new the most brilliant stone that she could. She had to leave Sirius behind, obviously, but the monthling would be fine without her for a day. The terrain was unforgiving but Hemlock wasn't deterred - such a prize would have meant a lot to both herself and hopefully to the pack. She messed over geodes, but none were so brilliant as what she wanted. Something that would be enough to encompass her dark forest and it's beauty, the place where she had become a married woman, the place she had been forced to bury her husband. She wanted an emerald, dark and dangerous looking, jagged edges and all of it's glory.

She asks for a great deal, it seems. Somewhere high above the rest of the world Hemlock stops, her steps faltering for an instant as she surveyed the world. It seemed so small - so tiny. Everything beneath her could have been forgotten - something she could have just moved on from and ignored. Still, she cannot abandon her wolves, her pack, her family - she does this for them after all. Hemlock took to climbing again, sure footed and careful of each step. She had a family to get home to, after all.

She took to a meandering pathway that wound its way around these heights. Since she was in no rush, she found herself the time to be thorough. In such new, vast places, she continually found at least something to busy her nose with as she poked along here, there, and everywhere in-between. For a very long time, never was it anything awfully noteworthy that warranted a second look, but enough overall. The scout in her was keeping satisfied.

Eventually, though, she did find a scent and this added a new level of interest to her roaming. Jomyo could afford to find out more about the area, and what better way to do so than convene. It took a little bit of adjusting thanks to not being able to entirely anticipate this landscape's details, but she eventually got herself heading in just the right direction to let her spot the other female out hiking upward. Next, she neared and announced herself neutrally with a small, low whuff and relaxed stance; she had little to lose here, and was feeling good and bold in her freshly-returned freedoms. Almost, she was prepared to call out with more--like a hey! or something, but a gusty breeze that kicked up just then made her not bother. Even without it, she had a pretty good idea the other female would be well aware of her, though.

Hemlock paused as she found another stone, it was shiny, worn down by the elements but there was nothing distinctly special about it. It was an impressive sort, sure, but it was not the level that she wanted for something meant to provide a reference to her home. She had lost much and such a tribute had to be astronomical in her opinion. She paused when she caught the scent of another wolf, turning to peer at the rocky expanse; seeking out another body against the rubble and rock. She chuffed lowly, providing a brief nod to the stranger. She did not immediately begin to scale in that direction, for a moment just debating her options.

After a moment she made her way a little closer, careful not to fall. That was all she needed, to topple down the rise and drag her broken ass back to Teaghlaigh. She kept her gaze between the ground and the stranger, not wanting to fall but at the same time, not wanting to leave herself open to being surprised just in case.

They had made note of each other, then silence between them allowed her to observe and take it all in quite thoroughly. Jomyo was in no rush to change that, not just yet, and tried to understand the other all she could without it. She scented pack, but not a name she'd known, and all sorts of fresh foreign lands on what appeared as a fit female. Curiosity tingled excitedly and her ears flicked about, and after a bit more time and steady footfalls, she had worked close enough to the other to warrant some semblance of a conversation--since she did not exude threatening vibes yet and had made no moves to repel Jomyo's lurking. She only seemed to be keeping a bit of an eye on her, which she was doing much the same.

Although she still kept a few lengths between them, she was closer than ever before. "Looking for something up here?" she piped in with, since that much seemed easily discernible with all of her downward glances and general mannerisms. As to what that could be, well, the possibilities were vast enough and Jomyo was nosy enough to bring it up in lieu of some more formal introduction.
