Akantha's excursion was turning into more of a trip than she'd initially anticipated, but with Kalika's recent promotion and her strong sense of duty, the Nereides Matriarch had little to worry about. Soteria would be intact, and her home would not suddenly sink into the Sea because she decided to leave for a few days. It gave her room to breathe, and to think, with the Moon to guide her and the Sea to watch her.
As the afternoon waned into evening, the burly she-wolf was meandering almost lazily across the shore of Stavanger Bay in the opposite direction she'd come the first time around. Oddly, it felt like she was retracting the steps she took after ascending to Matriarch, but it was simply the act of moving that busied her; nothing more than that. These wanderings drew her further and further away from the relative safety of the Blackwater Islands, but it also hid her from the discerning eyes of Drageda and their Commander.
She stopped short at a tide pool as her eyes caught sight of something in the depths. She struck, suddenly, submerging her entire face only to emerge with a sizable crab clutched tight in her jaws. She crunched down as it tried to pinch her lip, giving it no further reason to assault her given that death was rather permanent. Akantha, pleased, carried her prize to a spot above the tide line where she promptly flopped down, set her prize on her paws and began to pick the bits of hard shell away with expert care.
