She is near the borders but not too close to them yet

She snuffled along the fading trail of an ermine, having no name for the beast but hunger, and blood. Her fellows seemed to have fallen away; she had not seen Dogmeat in some time, though she valiantly tried to keep track of his scent. Having managed only to find scant bits of prey, and carrion fallen along the wayside, the Rottweiler's massive bulk was beset with gauntness, and her cheeks had hollowed in her caved face, giving her a fearsome and unholy appearance.
Her limp had not disappeared; it had lessened, but lack of nutrients to mend the flesh had left her with a wound that, despite her careful cleanings and the cold atmosphere, was growing warm with infection.
The female faced into the gently blowing snow, brow furrowed with the attempt at deciding to cross into the woodland, over the invisible line heavy with the scent of wolves, or press on, perhaps to her doom.

Razorback was nearby. The foreign scent caused her scheduled move eastward to be disrupted, and an eerie howl left her throat, warning the pack of something nearby. It had not yet crossed the borders, whatever the thing she smelled was... the scent familiar yet foreign. If ever something was too close for her comfort, she would let others know. The leggy wolf kept behind the wood, her eyes bright.
Mentally she braced herself as she sought to see the other through the treeline. There. Razorback turned, and began to pace impatiently. Whatever the hell that thing was, if it came to close, she would kill it. All intruders would meet the same demise.

Perhaps others would call her stupid, but Warthog could sense eyes upon her, and chose anyway to press over the thickly scented strip into the wolflands. There, she stood with shoulders hunched against the unseen watcher and the cold, fear gnawing at her empty belly and puddling her bowels; she might have had an accident, had there been food in her lower gullets. As it was, the Rottweiler merely grunted in pain as her intestines protested with a brief spasm of gas, one that passed as soon as it had come, and, lowering her blocky head once more, she began the eternal search for meat.
