Set before this thread @Redwood

Silver had settled in well in her new pack, and had decided to go exploring. Her paws had brought her to the edge of a huge dark forest, marked heavily by a pack, known to her through whispered tales of a loner. She was quick to switch directions and head west, following a winding, thick river.

Today, her thoughts turned to a distant idea she had been toying with, something that she felt she wanted to do. The only thing to do would be find a perfect location, and while she told herself she was trying for her outrider trade, she wondered if she was really scouting locations.

At the streams banks she stopped, and dipped her muzzle in for a deep drink, attempting to quench her terrible thirst.

The boy was walking along the riverside, lost in thought. He was thinking of his father again. But this time in a good way. What if he changed. What if he felt guilty for his murderous crime. What if his father was lurking in the woods, and he never even knew it? What if he was watching him right at this moment? He looked around at his surroundings, expecting to see a his look-alike father staring at him. But instead he saw a pelt glowing by the river. He decided to investigate. "Um, hello there. My name is Redwood." He was staring at a pretty white wolf, about his just his age. He had to admit, she was a site. It made him feel a bit awkward around her. "So, watcha doin' here? Just wandering?"

Silver heard the distinct sound of footfalls, and turned to see a handsome red wolf, about her age, coming toward her. He seemed friendly, so she gave him a smile and sat facing him. "Hi Redwood. I'm Silverfeather, or just Silver." She was struck at the similarity of the names Elwood and Redwood, and wondered briefly if the two knew each other. She dismissed the thought as highly unlikely, though.

"Yep, just exploring. What about you?" Her eyes scanned over his body, taking him all in. She liked to remember everyone she met, in cause she ever met them again.

"Same," he replied. He looked around, expecting a clone to come out of nowhere. But nothing came. But if he thought about it, he still hadn't forgiven his dad. He didn't think he ever could. He felt no sympathy or love for that man, even if they shared the same blood. He had been living his life in confusion. Why did he even want to kill his own family? He wanted someone, anyone to tell him the answers. Trying to forget about it, the boy asked, "So, do you have a Pack? I thought I smelled something on ya'."

"Yes, Redhawk Caldera. It's really great. Maybe...after you finish your exploration, you could come visit? You never know, you may like it there."
She knew that generally loners didn't like pack life, but she was hoping this one would at least try it out. This male had a natural like about him, she barley knew him and she already felt that he was a good person. She looked up at him with hopeful eyes, hoping he would say yes.

But then again, who knew how much longer she would be with the pack? Oh well. For as long as she was, she would do her share of work.

"Hm... I dunno'. I was thinking of joining a Pack. But I'm not that ready. But I'll keep your offer in mind." He hoped that he hadn't disappointed her. Before he joined a Pack, he wanted to enjoy being a Lone Wolf for just one last time. Of coarse he was still eager to get avenge his families death by slaying his father. It sounded dark, even for Redwood, but wouldn't anyone want to return a favor to a murderer? Sometimes he wished that his father had just killed him back at his whelping. At least he would be free from his personal prison. But his desire pushed him forward and stopped him from committing suicide or slay another wolf with the blindness of insanity. He had sometimes killed foxes or sometimes attacked bobcats in his frustration and confusion. He looked over across the lake, listening to the whispers of his ancestors. Are you among them? he said to himself.

The boy looked at Silver and said hopefully, "Maybe you can come with me? I'm not saying forever though. Just so I could have some company for a couple of days...."
