@Gaiban Kaname's gonna teach him how to hunt. :D (this is long overdue)
Spring was slowly coming. He noticed it in the melting snow, the louder birdsong in the morning, the budding trees. Hunting would become easier soon, but even so, Kaname thought that it was time enough to apprentice Gaiban, the youngest of the pack.
Gaiban already had experience in hunting, with the pack at least, but hunting alone is something that kept the caches full. The assassin stood on a cliff overlooking one of the best hunting areas in Ouroboros. Until Gaiban proved himself an adept hunter, Kaname would bring the young male here. He should give a name to this place. Hunter's Hollow? Sounded too simple. He had to ask Cara about that.
The Beta tipped his head back and howled Gaiban's name, summoning him to this little training ground. He hoped this hunting session would go well, or he had a feeling that he would lose his temper. He wasn't the most patient wolf when it came to training others.

Gaiban was laying in his den, when he heard a voice all him. he could tell instantly, by the deep baritone voice, that it was Kaname. The pale Iota leaped out of his den, and sprinted over, about 400 yards, to where his trainer was. He cocked his head, in question of what Kaname called him for.
"Hey Kaname!" Copper called out to the dark male. The dark male was standing over a cliff, looking down on the snowy forest. He was beginning to see some ivy growing back on the tree. the white-furred male loved spring. It was like, a second chance for nature to grow..
Just like him. Gaiban thought about something. Did Kaname call him to rat him out about his run in with Mara? Gaiban was a bit nervous, but it mixed with his excitement, to make a feeling of overall euphoria.
"why did you bring me here?" The more he thought about it, the more he wondered about Kaname's opinion of him.

Kaname turned his head towards the arriving young man, noting the excitement that seemed to follow Gaiban wherever he went. He was slightly annoyed by how happy the wolf always was, but the assassin guessed it was better than always being sad. "Well, I'm here going to teach you how to hunt." He said with no preamble. "The forest down there is always full of prey. It's the best place to start."

"Oh" Gaiban was excited. This was a necessary skill! And Gaiban was going to learn from the best of the best! The white wolf looked up to Kaname so much. He would do anything to make him proud. He could only imagine him, slim, a mere shadow, sneaking up, and snapping the prey.
Little did Gaiban realize he had snapped his maw as well. He shook himself out of the daydream, and looked Kaname straight in the eyes, with a nod. He was ready.

Kaname nodded towards the young male. "Let's go." The Beta rose and headed towards the slope, walking cautiously through the melting snow. They would be a while going to the clearing in the forest with the natural obstacle in their way, but eventually, the Beta reached the clearing.
Already he could see the tracks of several small animals, squirrels, rabbits, weasels, and large ones like deer, criss crossing the snow. He sniffed the trails, noting how fresh some of them smelled. Kaname turned to Gaiban, with a gleam in his eye. "The first part of hunting is finding your prey. With all of the trails here, it will be hard to distinguish between them, especially with many different creatures of the same species being here." He explained to the young man. "Try to follow one of these trails and we'll set about searching for the prey."

Gaiban stopped when Kaname mentioned the tracks.
"Uhm, Kaname? are there any cats, or bears down here?" Gaiban inquired. He hadn't forgotten his mission, and indeed was going to ask Kaname, or someone for help. He just was getting the feeling Kaname wasn't the father figure Gaiban dreamed of, exactly. He usually would have gone off and cried with that lone thought, but that was before.
Now, he was on a mission.
Gaiban sniffed the tracks, and realized he didn't have any sort of feline scent registered. Or bear, but that was for obvious reasons. He decided on a medium set of tracks, and began following it.. to miss it 5 seconds later. He tried again, deciding on a set of tracks that really looked like a cats', when his vain attempts failed again.

@Gaiban Apologies.
Kaname flicked an ear. "I suppose there would be a few bobcats that slipped in. We try to keep cougars and bears out." He had not seen any of the large predators even close to the Spine. They were mercifully rare around the region, despite being in the Great Bear Wilderness. "I doubt you'll have anything to fear, not here." With that, he lapsed off into silence, and focused on watching the yearling. He had to find this trail for himself; Kaname would not coddle him in the slightest.
Already, Gaiban was getting himself lost amidst the tracks. He didn't blame the boy, but stood silent, quietly urging him to keep pressing forward. He would find a straight trail somewhere soon.
