Silvertip Mountain Bring on the rapture

If Raissa had known the thoughts that had spun through her mates mind, she would have gone ballistic. Even while he might think of them as nothing but matter taking up space, they were still her children and they deserved a proper burial. She would go mourn them as soon as her two remaining pups were strong enough. But for now, they were her only concern.

The little male latched on and suckled obediently, making a ghost of a smile grace her lips. Even though he had come to soon, he was still a little warrior. The female was more hesitant, stopping after a bit and shivering. Raissa was quick to reach down and give her a comforting lick, nudging her back to the teat. She needed to eat, she was already tiny and she would need all the substance she could get.

She was so consumed with making sure her babies were taken care of that she didn't even notice when Fitz reentered the den, his eyes fixing on the pups, but his voice directed to her.

She looked up at him, a tiny smile on her face yet tears making her bright eyes glisten. "I don't really know." she responded sadly before looking back to the tiny beings suckling at her side with an adoring look. "They're so beautiful." she whispered, licking each of the pup's heads in turn.
