Raven did understand her sister's implication that she should be the one to choose the first stone.  The moment of worry she had felt at their father's absence was already forgotten, and with her tail waving goofily over her hindquarters, she commenced to searching for the perfect rock.  Her stormy blue eyes scanned over the ground, searching for qualities that would probably make no sense to anyone but her and Wildfire.  "Noooo," she mumbled repeatedly as she moved past rocks that didn't appeal to her.  "Noo...nooooo..."  Only the best for Wildfire.

Then she saw one that made her pause.  "Huff uhh?" she asked her red sister, pointing at the rock.  It was a little too big to be carried in a puppy's mouth, but it was so lovely.  As it laid in a patch of soft sunlight, minute crystals glittered and shimmered like so many stars on its banded grey- and white surface.  Years of weathering had shaped its edges so they were rounded and smooth, and Raven thought it a perfect gift for Wildfire.  "Heeee!" she declared proudly as she touched it with her nose.
