They had been in the area for almost a full day, and while he wanted to remain close to the others in case they needed his help, Barristan also wanted some time to himself. So he went exploring early that morning, and found himself quite a bit away from the others, on the other side of these lands. He had fished for the group the day before and had buried quite a few in a cache not far from where they were staying. They would be okay without him today, food wise.

But he needed to stretch his legs and take in the sights. If they were going to settle here permanently, he wanted to know the most about it that he could. The lands reminded him somewhat of Seahawk, though without the ocean closeby. He missed that salty, tangy smell in the background, but there was plenty of water around, which eased his homesick heart. While he had wanted to get out of Seahawk and follow his father's wishes in finding his own place in the world, Barristan still missed his mother and father every day. That wouldn't change, not even when he was old and grey.
