Tonravik was content to let Echelon nose at her and investigate for a moment. Their time together had been spread apart some given the circumstances, but Tonravik would prevent too much time from passing. Echelon had stuck by her side since the very beginning, and no bond she shared was like the one with her aokkatti. But the weather was hot, and Echelon's nearness became suddenly stifling.

The leader picked up her pace, not yet resorting to snapping at Echelon; but surely, the tinier Tartok wolf suspected that would come if she kept instigating her. Tonravik's ears cupped and fell backward, listening for Echelon even still.
