Omega, the black one had said. You will not leave this place, Syn had been told. Not understanding what an 'Omega' was, she discarded the word. The other part couldn't have been more clear. Shuffling back and forth as rocks pricked into her underside, the black wolf gazed down from the towering Spine into the bowl shape of the territory. So this was her place too. Well, she had already thought this place to be hers, but now it was official. "This is Syn's." She turned to glance at the field down behind her while wondering what would happen if she decided to leave. Shifting her eyes side to side, Syn searched for any sign of the wolves. "Syn is safe," she whispered to herself. Standing, she spun around to dash down the steep side of the spine towards the boarder. She jumped on ledges when presented, but slid most of the way down. "They won't tell Syn what to do. Syn can do what Syn wants to do." Nervousness tightened into a ball in her stomach. The wolves here were dangerous. The three she had met had all wanted to dig their teeth into her flesh, but the memory of what had happened exactly was still blank.

Once at the bottom of the Spire, Syn walked a little before she slowed to a halt. She didn't want to leave Ouroboros Spine. She just wanted to test the alpha's words. Lowering her head, she sniffed at the ground. Strong smells of a mix of wolves made her nose tingle. A sudden sneeze caused her to fall back onto her rump and stumble to one side. She crinkled her nose, sticking her tongue out at the territory markings. "Too much," she told it.

She was bored now. Nothing had happened when she came to the edge. No wolves had come to stop her. Feeling ornery, Syn dangled a paw over the boarder before setting it down with a defiant wag of her tail. "No one tells Syn what Syn can do." She felt like going back over the Spire despite her words, her usual artistic needs were nagging at her. The sides of the rising rock was a perfect canvas for her drawings. With a stomp of her paw over the boarder, Syn decided that she should go hunting for painting materials. She paused for a moment, wondering if maybe painting materials were hiding in the field. "Syn can do what Syn wants," she repeated halfheartedly.
