So when his mother spoke, telling the pups that they would have a place in the hunt and that they could help trap the prey, Damien shot a cocky glance at Lusa, as if rubbing the fact that she had just been humiliated by Meldresi's change of plans.

The night child reassured his position besides his mother, and every move she made, he made it too, learning from every step they took towards the prey. His first hunt was going to be a success and no one would take that away from him.
