She let him stand over her without displacing him, focusing on keeping her nose out of the stream so she didn't choke on water. Surprisingly, his orders now were well received and obeyed. While she was definitely hard headed, usually it was for a specific purpose. Being stubborn now would only lead her to an early grave for absolutely no reason so she listened, and listened well.
