Sitting in the shallows, he snipped off a few of the yellow petals and pressed them into the wound on her jaw. An old trick. He'd seen his mother do it and it worked wonders on wounds. Stopped the bleeding. Satisfied with his work there, he moved lower and repeated the process with her shoulder.
