Fox didn't know the alphabet (she was a wolf, after all), so she'd just assumed Inari—if that was even his real name—had decided not to finish the statement.

"So I guess that's a 'no' on the recruitment front, huh?" Fox half-asked, though she wasn't even sure she wanted to pursue such a thing.
