Herbalists' Cache get out of the sun

The sun was high in a cloudless sky. It all but burned the dark fur of his back, and so he sought the shade of a nearby forest. There was a definite shift in temperature as soon as he stepped into the trees, weaving among their sturdy trunks. Like everywhere else he had been, the ground was saturated in scent. Whatever it was about this general area, wolves were plentiful, and from what he had seen, so was the prey. He would be hard pressed to find a better place to settle, and so for now at least he would refrain from making a quick pass-through as he was accustomed to doing. It may provide worth his time if he stayed and explored a bit. But for now, the frosted male stretched his rugged body upon the cool earth beneath the trees. His head he laid upon his forelegs, and he rested.
