He puffed out his chest because he was a role model for Damien, Cicero and Potema. They even viewed him as his father so he was quite proud of that. "No. I work better when they start talking full sentences and showing some interest in fighting and spying," he agreed with her. 

Burke wasn't really keen on also playing the father for Lusa and Grimnir's pups. That reminded him to talk to the male. He was the alpha now so he might as well give the male a kick in his butt so his brain might float back to his head instead of his ass. "Maybe Meldresi, who is my mate and the Dark Queen of his pack , and I one last litter. Then of course I would be an amazing father."
