As he peered down through the den mouth, he spied her resting. Not really resting so much as she was stirring to the sound of his nonverbal inquiries. The startings of a sleepy smile and the wave of her tail against the dry earth was enough of an invitation; Mordecai slipped in quietly and softly.

"How are you feeling?" came his words, just as quiet and soft. He could not have been entirely sure that she felt any better at all.
