Thankfully, the unknown wolf heeded his warning and quickly retreated from the coastline to stand by Edy's side. When the male's scent was noticeable, Edy realized it was yet another Horizon Ridge member—one he had not met. “Pied called it a blackfish,” Kennedy replied. It certainly was a beast of a creature, and Edy could understand why it struck fear into the hearts of so many. He was confounded as to why the sea lions did not take their business elsewhere, unaware that they needed to ocean to eat.
Considering the danger had passed for the time being, Kennedy felt himself relax. “Terrible things, they are. Make me wonder if this is the best place to be hanging around.” Nevertheless, Edy could not help but bum around here every once in awhile. “So, you’re new to Horizon Ridge... What brought you to us?” he asked.
Kennedy listened thoughtfully as Jolly Roger spoke of his own tale. When the two were done with their conversation, Kennedy walked back with him to the ridge.
