It was like running up a hill and knowing on the other side was the most tranquil meadow in the entire world. Saena was on that uphill run, galloping hard toward it with the motion of their bodies and the thrumming of her heart. This time, it wasn't meant to be—Reek's arms tightened around her and then he slumped forward, obviously spent—but even though she hadn't crested the metaphorical hill, it was still the most euphoric thing she'd ever experienced. Definitely better than she'd ever hoped.

Reek was muttering against the nape of her neck, then he slipped off her and panted. Saena, once released, wobbled on the spot before shakily laying herself down, still lost to waves of euphoria. Her breath came in gasps, voiceless ones now, but when she looked up at Reek, it was with soft eyes in spite of her flagging energy.

She managed to get to her feet, shaky as they were, and very slowly approach him... and once there, she shoved her snout into the crook of his neck and breathed in deeply, savouring his scent and cataloguing how it changed with what they'd just done. She then sank back to her stomach again, still shaky, but smiling gently even though her eyes were half-lidded with blissful exhaustion.
