Eilidh waited impatiently for her father to return. Though she loved her mother and wished to emulate her grace and goodness and love, there was a special connection between father and daughter. So the golden girl paced back and forth, back and forth, while they waited for some sign of her father's return. When he did come back, to the whisper of their mother, saying look, look, Eilidh went barreling toward him and the others, barking and yipping happily.

"Pappa!" she crowed, nuzzling him under the chin, reveling in his scent and presence. Then she took a step back and repeated the process with other two men, a little less enthusiastically, a little less personally, but she still nudged each one on the chin in rejoiceful greeting, before whisking back toward her mother.
