Horizon Ridge Take me by the hand

Not even for a single moment did Reek stop to think about the absolute implausibility of the situation. His excited naivety had gotten the best of him and to hear that it had all been a ruse at the hands of his joking lover came as a dissapointment.  One that he tried (and failed) to play off as no big deal.  His excited flurry of love slowed to a stop after she came clean.  "S-same,"  he stuttered, accompanied by a sad smile.  "I— uh, yeah... kidding."  It may have been a lie, but he was far too embarrassed.

She tucked her head in obvious regret of what she had done.  Reek nestled in close and ran his nose across her neck in an attempt to comfort her. Reek had been on the opposite end of a joke gone too far multiple times, so he knew how it felt. "It's ok," he whispered. "At least we know we're on the same page now... I, uh— I want a future with you Saena... and pups are totally a part of that plan."

"But," he continued smiling weakly, "you owe me a secret."  With her initial revelation being false, their little trade had been invalidated. It was time to pay the piper in the currency of information.
