"He went in for Osprey," Mordecai mentioned, recalling the fateful day as though it were idle conversation. "She's the one who warned us all about it, at least those of us in earshot." He didn't mention that he himself would have gone in as well, if not for the whole picture at hand. And perhaps if not for Dante's instructions.
Mordecai breathed out, still feeling the touch of burn to his lungs from the smoke. "I'm sure they'll turn up eventually, I just hope it's for the better. They've been apart of this pack for a long time." How long, he couldn't have guessed. When he and Dante had brushed arms, so to speak, they had both been on their own and just as wild as they came. Osprey, as far as he knew, had always been apart of the Plateau.
Nudging Harlyn, he went on to add: "I'm glad we're all alright though." Things could have always been much worse, and he would have been among the first to admit that he perhaps had anticipated things to go a lot worse. Fires were no joke, they were savage and much more untamed that the wild creatures they were. They did not care for what they ravaged.
