Maybe one day, when she was old, she would meet Pied. Maybe the woman's ghost would appear to her, although it seemed unlikely. She had yet to see a single wolf amongst the ghosts that she glimpsed. Still, she could hope. She could likewise hope she would see Junior again, if only to berate her for making the shittiest decision known to wolves.

"I'm sure you'll like them," she said reassuringly, while hoping they would like him as well. Maybe they wouldn't because he wasn't what they expected for her, but maybe they wouldn't even think that way. Her family was often accepting of everything. It was that quality, endearing as it was, that drove her to strike out on her own.

Reek began to launch into a tale from his childhood, allegedly embarrassing, and Saena was all ears until he cut himself short. She frowned playfully and opened her mouth to protest the suspense when the very smell he pointed out wafted past. Wolf. Fresh. Probably just a passerby, but still enough to make others nervous.

"We oughta get moving anyway," said Saena, rising stiffly and stretching lightly. "You can tell me on the way."
