With her answer came his decision, as impulsive as his initial promise to follow her. She was ready, it was happening, and he could not turn his back on her now. He was at once excited for his home and regretful that he could not be at Lasher's side, at least not at this time. It did not mean however, that they could not pursue their affections for one another, and with that thought he lifted his head, smiling brightly as he leaned in to nose Harlyn's cheek as they continued on.

"I think he'll come around," Luke said confidently, his tail swaying in his characteristic, happy cadence. On the topic of Lasher he held his tongue for now, and the details of all the emotional duress he had struggled with while waiting for this moment would likely go without ever being discussed.
