Stavanger Bay inspecting the damages

She hadn't seen him since their first night together, and Saskia didn't know what to think about that. They weren't friends, so his absence should not have bothered her; but at the same time, Saskia felt as if she were connected to Charon in some manner - something beyond just being his slave. Maybe it was just her guilt eating away at her. She must have said something or maybe done something to make him stop talking that night. 

So, the girl did what she thought was right. She followed after him on his latest patrol, hanging back long enough so that she could scout out the territory in-depth while he moved on to the beach. When she arrived, he was already creeping through the debris and spying on some pools, and Saskia wasn't about to interrupt him. If he needed something, she could easily react when called.

The bay was littered with all kinds of things she had never seen before. Not just trees pulled out by the root, but dead fish of varying sizes (and state of decomposition), tangled seaweed that held the dead stench of the ocean, and even some gull carcasses. Saskia was curious, but with each new discovery she felt her stomach churning; with some willpower she resisted the desire to throw up the bile rising in her throat, but it wouldn't be long before all of the mayhem really got to her.
