Nature had to be respected. It claimed whatever it wanted with force. The destruction had a breathtaking beauty, as often one did not go without the other. Over the course of his life, he had witnessed that more than often. You could only be humbled when stepping into the aftermath of such a storm. Akela had been lucky, he had escaped it alive, but not everyone was as lucky. Free food it was though, a boar stuck under a tree. He was chewing on it, it was not fresh, but he would not complain, this was still eatable and he needed his strength. Since it was at a pack border, which alpha scent he could not really identify because the rain had washed it too much to recognize it  but not enough to not notice, he was not stealing anything.

He lifted his head, when he picked up the scent of another wolf. He was not one to look for troubles, he had passed that tender age where you just had to prove that you were worth something. He knew his value, and it wasn't as if he was trespassing. He did take a moment to observe what appeared to be a younger wolf. Its pattern was quite peculiar, yet intriguing.
