She didn't know what she'd been expecting, but easy acceptance of her relationship wasn't really it. After all, Reek wasn't Prince Charming by any means. He was skinny, his fur was wispy and a little rough. His muzzle was greying with either age or stress. He was definitely older than her, probably by a lot, although Saena had never asked and didn't really care. After all, age was a number to her, and she'd been treated unfairly for her own enough times to never, ever care about age at all. She thought back to a time or two where wolves from the plateau fancied themselves superior to her simply because of age, and knew that even if Reek was seven or eight, she wouldn't care.

Both Dante and Lasher seemed eager for the news. She let her ears fall, cast her gaze sideways to the ground, and muttered, "Junior's dead." Her gaze flashed back up to Dante first—the man had been good friends with Junior, if Saena remembered correctly, even though he was indirectly the reason she had left the plateau in the first place. Then she panned to Lasher, who was surely stricken was well. The man shared familial bonds. "She went to the caldera to try to kill one of our half-siblings and they killed her for it. I had no idea." What a fucking idiot she was, is what Saena wanted to say, but she was sure that all present, especially Reek, shared that thought without her voicing it aloud.
