Bhreac wandered every chance she got. Although she'd been prone to roaming from the day she could walk, it was less a thirst for adventure or distance and more a quest for something to do. Something physical, and stimulating, and a little bit exhausting. She and Eshe had lived in a canyon, previously, though, so it had been easy enough to do that. Another day, another craggy cliff face to pick her way up in her spare time, often alone, but sometimes with family. She'd never gone far beyond, though — there'd never been any reason to. Now, though she had loyalty to the burgeoning pack she'd promised herself to, there was a looser tether on her, and so many new things to see.

She'd left early in the morning and found herself a ways from home after weaving around, chasing birds and stray thoughts and interesting trees. It was mindless, but there was comfort in that, as she still hadn't found much to turn her mind from what had happened to her family. Part of her wished — though she was wary of it — to have Eshe's ease in finding wolves upon whom she wanted to bestow her time in affection. The whole thing still made her too wary, though.

She came upon a river, and stepped into the shallow edges of it. She frowned a little to herself, wondering why she was forever attracted to the sort of earth that would muddy her coat, but didn't stop walking, enjoying the cool water splashing at her heels as she went. After a short while, she came upon another wolf. She paused, her initial reaction to walk in the other direction, but after a beat of indecision she took a few steps toward him, pausing a cautious distance from him.

"'Lo there," she said, giving her tail a wag to show that she was a — somewhat — friendly presence, although as usual new wolves made her too nervous to fully invest in a smile.
